Problem 9 of 12: Just a few weeks after the last problem, on September 30th, 2016, I wake up to take my son to school before I start work, and the car wont start and the key won’t come back out of the ignition. I call the dealership. They say that my extended warranty DOES have roadside assistance and he gives me the number for them. I call in sick again to work and sit for an hour waiting for the tow vehicle. They tow me and my renegade to Victorville Motors. They put me in a rental car which my extended warranty only covers one day unless the repairs are covered under the warranty in which case it covers the rental for the full length of the repairs. I proactively call the factory because they take forever to get back to you. The next day I get a call from the dealership stating that the fuel pump appears to be bad and it is not covered under the extended warranty. The vehicle needs fuel to have power, but the fuel pump is not part of the power-train. Again, not within my sense of logic, but whatever?! I explain that I already have a call into the factory and they or I will call the dealership back with instructions. They can’t figure out why the fuel pump isn’t working, but it’s not so first that has to be fixed before they can see if anything else is wrong, or if my key will ever be released from the ignition. When I’m in contact with the factory, I recount all of these problems and explain that I am at the point that I want to contact an attorney because this car is electrically a lemon. Almost every issue can be somehow electrically related. The first girl (Brittany) tells me that they will cover the fuel pump and rental car, and after I explain that I feel they should also fix the fog lights and speaker that remain damaged, she agrees to that too but she’s escalating my case to another department. Girl 2 (Angel) contacts me. She says that she will contact the dealership and make sure they take care of everything and make sure they check out the entire vehicle so I’m not back in with another problem within weeks again. She apparently contacts the dealership, but never gets back to me. The dealership contacts me stating that if I pay nothing there is no warranty on the repairs they’ve made to the fuel pump. However, if I choose to pay them $100, there is a 2-year warranty on those repairs. The dealership also knows nothing of fixing the speaker or fog lights. Furious, I call Angel at the factory. She hasn’t called me back like she was supposed to and nothing else is being repaired like they promised and they are holding a warranty on the repairs hostage for another $100 of my money, and the dealership says that only a portion of the rental car will be covered. No response over the weekend. I call Angel again Monday morning (today) and get her voicemail. I leave a message, but call back and speak with a Supervisor, Whitney, who tells me that they simply will not fix the fog lights, they’re bulbs and that’s a maintenance item, the speaker and the fuel pump will be repaired by tomorrow and the key is free now. They will cover the repairs being done and the rental car, but if I want the warranty, that I must pay the $100 as stated by the dealership and with the amount of miles I drive, she would recommend that I purchase it. I feel like I can’t fight city hall forever, so I will do my best to pay for the warranty this time (item 9) and pray there is no item 10. I have no idea where to even start fighting with the dealership over the extended warranty explained on the showroom floor and what ended up being actually sold to me. I just want to cry, but don’t want to give them the satisfaction. I file for lemon law because every problem, although different, has been an electrical issue thus far. They said NO LEMON and offered me $500 to waive my right to file suit against them. I reserve my right to sue over the headaches this car has given me, so they kept their $500.

They fixed it under warranty, as they should, but I'm not getting the gas mileage I had before. The service was crap. Stopped overnight in Savannah while traveling from Tampa to Fort Bragg. Sunday morning, car won't start. No indicators, no symptoms, nothing. Engine just spins. Pulled out my handy dandy Driver's 1 Card that came with the vehicle. They arranged a to and generously offered to pay up to $50. (no one is towing for $50 on a Sunday) told them never mind, my insurance company will take care of me. Towed into the dealership for free. I would think that any dealership would recognize a stranded motorist from out of town as an opportunity to shine as a company who stands behind their brand and customers. Not the case. (Auto Nation Savannah GA) A few hours later when they opened, I spoke to the sales manager. No service or anything open that day. (not surprisingly. They offered to sell me a new car. They declined an even up trade for a new working car. Finally suggested that I rent a car and I would be reimbursed, just use the number on the Drivers 1 Card. Since I had to be at Fort Bragg Monday, that's what I did. Picked up my car on the way back through on Thursday. They took my rental receipt and contact information promising to let me know without making any promises. Two weeks later the slow roll continues. Once home I discovered dirty hand prints on my rear seat and what looked like coffee or dark soda spilled in the back. Marginally satisfied with the repair, will raise that with my local dealership. Extremely dissatisfied with the service.

Renegade Limited 3.2L

New 2015 Renegade, less then 1800 miles. Pulled up to a light, chug, chug, car dies and will not restart. Half tank of gas. Been buying gas at this station for over 20 years. $200.00 worth of groceries.

No warning lights or messages. Towed vehicle to dealership. Dealership didn't have time to look at the car. AKA...NO LOANER. To get any information we had to contact them. Told it was the fuel pump as my husband had thought. No replacement available. 3 days at the earliest to get a new pump, from Arizona.....Hello....I could drive there and back in 4 hours....if I had a car! Have you heard of over nightingale the pump, another dealer locally? NO, then you better....no loaners available 6 days till Christmas!!!

Duh, local dealer had a pump. Got car back, now the parking brakes will not engage and the paperwork shows we had a loaner.

FYI..had a 2003 Jeep Liberty, never a problem. Best car ever....did I get a lemon? Funny how the salesmen hound you to buy a car, or give them the highest review on YELP, but not one could return a call.
