While I was making a sharp left turn through an intersection, my 1 year old Jeep (at that time) stalled including the engine and power steering. I was barely able to coast out of the intersection and get partly out of the road. It took several attempts before the car would start. This vehicle was well cared for. I immediately reported the problem to Reardon Jeep in Kirkland, WA and was basically called a liar. The service rep said that was “impossible” and refused to even document or investigate the complaint. I could have been killed if there had been traffic at the time. I had to trade to car in because I felt it was unsafe. I would NEVER buy another Jeep nor would I recommend one. The product and the service (or lack thereof) was horrible!

This is the second coil to blow. The dealership took a day and a half to diagnose it even when I told them what it was. This Jeep is constant issues and is going to be traded for something besides a Jeep!

Traction control light comes on during normal driving conditions while turning and while pulling out into traffic. When this happens the traction light flashes and you loose all control of throttle and car comes to a stop. My wife is scared to drive her new car. This is very unsafe

This vehicle is completely unsafe to drive the traction control light comes on during normal driving and cases loss of throttle power I'm afraid my family is going to get hurt or killed and no one seems to care. It's been in the dealership 4 times and no fix. I want a fix or I want a new vehicle before we have lawsuit for injury or death. I will seek out for a lawyer to check my options. I know there is a lemon law for issues like this. I want something done about this.

Still having the same problem. Traction control light comes on during normal driving conditions mostly while turning or pulling into traffic causing looks of throttle power while light flashes. The car comes to stop and you can turn car off an on and start driving again. No one can seem to figure out a fix. I feel like it's just being ignored

I bought this new 2015 Renegade on 10/26/15. My job requires I drive a lot and I have had Jeeps for the past 10 years. I need reliability and driveability in bad weather. I was not used to a 4 cylinder and the 9 speed automatic transmission was different also. It seemed to have trouble shifting gears properly and when i'd back out of my garage, it jerked a lot, just going backward on a flat surface. So on 11/25, with just over a thousand miles, I was driving to work, down a residential street, when the car just died. I drifted over to the side of the road and smoke poured thru the vents into the car. I grabbed my purse and my laptop and got out and then popped the hood where more smoke poured out. I was afraid it was going to catch fire. if I had been on a highway, I definitely would have been in an accident. I called Roadside Assistance, left the car and got a ride into work. The dealer never called me, and never returned 3 calls I made to them. Finally, I got a guy in service to tell me I could get a loaner car if I could get there by 5:30. When I got there, he said I needed a new starter. I called a "manager" the next day and told him I am afraid to drive that car again. He said I'd have to pay to upgrade to another vehicle. I don't think a starter is going to solve my problems, as I feel the transmission is not right either. Going up hills, it is over 3,000 RPM's and can't seem to figure where to downshift. I don't see any resolution to this, other than me losing money or my life.

Bought 2015 Jeep Renegade on 9/17 with just under 200 miles on it.

9/25/2015- I started my car up and the check engine light came on. I called the service department, which took me to a call center, I think. They told me that if the light wasn’t flashing, I could drive it. I drove it home with the intention of making an appointment first thing the following morning. On my way to the closest dealership, Doan, the CE light went off. The Service Manager checked the codes and saw that there was a Coolant System code in the history and deleted it. He did check over everything and said it looked ok. He just thought it might have been a bubble or something similar.

10/5/2015- Within a mile of leaving work, my car started acting funny. It seemed sluggish going around a corner so I looked down at the shifter to see if it was in neutral or something similar. The gear panel was flickering, I then looked at the instrument panel and saw all of the possible warning lights coming on in the dash. The vehicle showed me “Service- Fuel Shut Off” so I turned it off and restarted it just to try to get somewhere safer. I was able to coast down into a gravel driveway but had no power steering and the accelerator did nothing. I was able to start it back up after a while of waiting (30 minutes or so) but still called roadside assistance and they were able to tow the vehicle. 850 miles.

10/8/2015- Same as above. I made it about 5-6 miles from work. I also noticed that when I pressed the accelerator, the tachometer was not moving and the car returned back to idle very slowly. The RPMs didn’t decrease how they normally did when I depressed the accelerator. I was able to wait for about 10 minutes with the vehicle off, then when I started it back up the only light on was the check engine light (not flashing). I drove to the Henrietta Jeep dealership and talked with Tim again. I went in to talk with Tim about it and he asked me to drive the Jeep up to the bay. When I started the car, everything had started flashing and all warning lights came on again. I was not able to get the car into reverse. I called Tim out so he could witness what was happening. 920 miles (plus 10 miles back to the dealership.

After buying the vehicle the night before, I was driving and the vehicle tried to stall out a couple of times, but then recovered. I assumed it was because I wasn't used to driving a 4 cyl. although it never happened while I was on the gas. It was actually while I was driving at a steady 55 miles per hour. I feel this is an electrical problem due to the fact that today, not 4 days after buying the vehicle it is dead in my driveway.
