CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Jeep Renegade has a very large volume of complaints for such a new model, especially compared to other SUVs in the same class.
Most Jeep Renegade complaints are for various problems with interior accessories & electrical systems, as well as squealing brakes, transmission (rough shifting) and engine problems.
Stupid ass Jeep. Thank god it's not in my name. First the CEL comes on and 4WD will not engage. On top of the fact it's a fiat Chrysler engine, this thing sucks. Absolutely a waste of time. I work at a car buying company and I priced it. Total loss at this point. Not even 70k miles. Don't get this car people. Do not get Jeep in general now a days.
Just bought the car as a demo model (Dealership's own rental program) which had 8,700 miles on it. I drove it around for a few days when suddenly the Service Engine light came on. Pissed off, I drove back to the dealership (110 miles away, mind you) to have it diagnosed. They claimed it was a false reading and wiped the code. One week later the light comes back on and I had to drive back to the dealership and get it diagnosed again! Thankfully, the dealership owned up to it and said it was their mistake for not diagnosing the problem correctly the first time, got me in a rental under warranty and are correcting the problem now.
