My daughter has driven manual cars for 10 years, luckily never burned a clutch.. The 2015 Renegade was her baby. No towing, racing, hills,...27,00 miles of basically highway driving. Two weeks ago I moved the car and noticed nothing, no slipping, zip. Later that day she took the car and on the freeway the clutch basically exploded causing enough smoke to alert other drivers as she coasted over. I went to pick her up and the car would not move forward or back an inch with the clutch fully disengaged.
Towed the car...$3200 to repair, including the flywheel which was also damaged.
Of course the $1290 extended warranty covered nothing, both the dealership and I called Jeep hotline (30+ minute hold) for some relief. They escalated. No return call, gave me a bogus claim number so called them and after another (30+ minute hold) was told normal wear and tear issue, they will do nothing.
I really hate not buying American but to be honest looking at the numerous complaints about this and Dodge unwilling to even discount parts for repair I am no longer 100% big 3.
