Second time in to the dealership for this same problem, this time the water leak had fried my stereo and they ordered me a refurbished one that took them seven months to replace!!! And they said they still could not find the problem!!!

water leaking from the light over dashboard

So it is now January 2017 and this water leak is a major problem, I keep towels on the dash at all times and it soaked through them and splattered, soaking my seats and leaked down through the heating vents soaking my drivers side floor. The headliner was so wet I could run my hand along it and water would pour out.. My electrical is now acting weird, check engine light coming off and on for the gascap, it will not auto start from my key anymore! The only reason that the dealership did not charge me for all these issues in the past is because I found that this is a major problem with the Patriot starting in 2007, just by googling Jeep Patriot water leaks and found sites guiding me here. I am now taking it in tomorrow and they better give me a great trade in deal!!!!!!!!!!! I am done with this!!!

It's true, there's a flood advisory, and it's true it's been raining nonstop for 24 hours, but so far my Patriot has not even come close to floating. I had no reason at all to suspect the standing water in my rear driver's side foot well this morning. I was shocked to see about a half inch of standing water in there. I suspected a reasonable, rational, human error sort of explanation, but no, my windows were all closed, and weirder still, there was no hints of water anywhere else, not on the door, not from the ceiling, not over the seat. It appears the water literally rose up from the floor boards. And by the way, I have no sun roof.

I checked the other floors, and the passenger side ones were dry. The drivers floor is covered with an aftermarket heavy duty rubber mat, which was apparently dry, but I decided to check underneath it. Sure as Friday, water was underneath the rubber mat. Somehow the water is backing up through the floor.

I haven't taken it in and I think my warranty is up, so I'm not sure that is even an option.
