Last year I started having problems putting gas in my car. It kept shutting off every few seconds. At this point it also has started spitting gas out at me. I took it to my local mechanic who ran a diagnostic & said roll over valve is defective & won't allow me to fill it. He also said Jeeps are known for this issue & the only fix is a new gas tank which is beyond expensive & suggested I call Chrysler, which I did. I'm out of warranty & my vehicle was manufactured May 2012 so it wasn't included in the initial recall (M11) they had previously for this very issue (for vehicles 2011 to Jan 2012).
They refused to do it as a courtesy. I'm going through chemo for a 2nd bought of lung cancer right now & there is no way I can afford this fix that to me is essential...you can't drive a car if you can't put gas in it. The car only has 75200 miles on it & I take excellent care of it. We own a 2016 Jeep Cherokee as well but not sure I would recommend Jeep to anyone. I believe we've had 4 or 5 recalls between the 2 vehicles so far. This type of problem is not only annoying but beyond expensive to fix. Anybody else have this issue?
