The dome lights keep leaking on this car. We bought it two years ago and had no problems (used at 70K miles). It's a car for my teenage sons and it's a very frustrating problem. They are new drivers and this major distraction does not help me feel secure when they are driving! I would really like to get this thing fixed.

The back passenger floor board is consistently soaking wet, with a standing puddle of water. Well dry it up as much as we can and the next morning if its rained the back passenger floor board will be completely wet again. The inside of the windows get extremely wet and dewy to were there is water dripping from them including the inside of the sunroof window. We again soak it all up, as much as we can. But the upholstery on the seats, sunroof cover and the headliner stay very dewy and moist to were your butt/pants and tail end of your shirt are both damp from sitting in it. We took it to the dealer and they stated the obvious that the carpet and the upholstery needed to be replaced and the Jeep need to be completely dried out thoroughly, but that they couldn't find the issue as to what could be causing the leak. Needless to say that wasn't much help. Were very concerned and don't know what else to do.

Car is garage kept by elderly owners who no longer drive. Children use it to take them places now. Daughter drove in rain and it was leaking like crazy. Found out brother had the Jeep in 2 other times to repair this problem. Water is accumulating in lens cover and comes down over air vents, over radio unit, down to gear shift down to carpet on passenger side. Worry about electrical and mold.

Ok omg what the @&$)? is really going on here......this makes 4 times now and this time was very bad. Seats, carpet, GPS, AC switches, whole dash, whole head liner soaked. Dripping water from all over the dam place. 05/19/2014 went back for the 4th time for a sunroof water leak from hell! Dealer replaced GPS, radio, carpet, headliner, AC switch x3. Water leak repaired by a third party named Carolina Mobile Glass. Dealer said all is fixed and sorry 55 times and that it would not happen again...

We have had the Patriot for 2 years now with very little issues. We did not know about this problem until it happened this past weekend after a heavy rainfall. After doing research on it, I wish we had heard about it prior. We took it to the dealership to find out it was not covered under our warranty, and it would cost $300 to fix the problem. What's annoying to me however, after reading throughout all the complaints is that we don't know if this is actually going to fix the issue and we are basically throwing money out the window.

I'm also EXTREMELY annoyed that this hasn't been a recall considering Jeep / Chrysler should obviously know about it.

Was on way to work and next thing you know water started POURING (NOT DRIPPING) from the dome light and switches. Dripped all over dash and Radio, Hvac knobs... Was panicky and had to pull over. Called PROGRESSIVE JEEP @ 7966 hills and dales road Massillon Ohio and they said service dept. would call me and they didn't......... so I called them back again and spoke to a service dept rep. and He told me everything it wasn't right off the bat but couldn't tell me what it was and I said I have to get this fixed and he said BUDDY I HAVE OVER 57 CARS ON MY SCHEDULE RIGHT NOW .....WOW.......I HUNG UP IN DISGUST... I HAVE TO SERIOUSLY MELLOW AWHILE BEFORE I GO THERE TO GET THE OL' WE COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG CRAP.

This is a Jeep , Jeeps are known for rugged all terrain yet this thing cannot handle rain ????? I have come to the conclusion that if you want all of your auto car and truck problems to disappear........get a bike.

Patriot Limited 2.4L

I called the dealership to inform him of the leak through the dome light, wanted know if I were in an accident! My Jeep Corporate Case #21660302, I informed my Jeep Customer Care that I want out of the vehicle, he said I didn’t meet the requirement, referred me to BBB and Attorney State General. The suggested process through Attorney State General is to write a “certified letter” with “signature required”. I called corporate asking for mailing address, it could not be provided due to the Department handling my case was close and to call back Mon. 19th Dec. 2011 I took it in for service, the drain plug was pinched! Asked if the hood of car replaced, electrical wiring inspected and electronics, ok? Dealer customer care rep, Mike, said yes, The GPS is garbled speech and the vehicle hesitates while pulling off and periodically while driving At this point I’m searching for legal counsel!
