I bought this vehicle 2 years ago and when I had inspected last year nothing was said. Today I was told the front K frame (sub frame) is rusted with holes. I asked to see it. When looking at it, it appeared to have been patched sometime before this. While there, I also saw that the rear sub frame isn't far behind in its erosion. Considering that this is a 2012 Jeep Patriot Sport 2wd vehicle, I would think they would've anticipated issues with the underbody and protected it. After all, it's advertised as an on and off road vehicle. We're not talking about a station wagon!
I was told this is a common problem, this should've been subject to a recall. I understand ordinary vehicles undercoating is an option, BUT THIS IS A JEEP for goodness sake!
