I purchased a gift for a baby shower and left it in the trunk over night. The following morning I noticed the box was saturated and ruined (luckily it was baby bathtub, so gift itself was fine). There were two wet spots on either side of the rear trunk light, where the water was dripping from as well as drips from the light itself. I'm not going to submit 4 separate complaints, but long story short, I've brought it back to the dealer (Larchmont Jeep) 4 times and the issue is still not resolved (escalated to a manager, etc). They replaced the rubber seal that goes around the trunk and supposedly water tested it. At this point with these multiple attempts, I don't believe the water is getting in through the gap in the rear hatch as it slopes up slightly from there to the light. I'm guessing maybe the roof rack then settling around the light? It's only water and thankfully not mechanical, but half of my car is basically useless as I can't store/transport anything back there without fear of it being ruined. Who knows what type of mold is growing in the ceiling/carpet from all the saturation (you can see the water stains on the ceiling), as well as any electrical problems that may now occur with water getting into the light. What makes this ordeal even worse is that the Jeep dealership doesn't have loaner cars.
