Patriot Sport 2.4L

Just started recently after having serviced for a speed sensor where brake light, check engine, and the ESP warning lights came on. Engine light just came back on after car stalled several times after coming to a stop or trying to accelerate from a stopped position. Changed the oxygen sensors, vapor canister, gas cap and pulled and cleaned all the ground cables. Will get a code reader and see what comes up. This stalling issue is a dangerous thing and looking at several other posts does not seem to be an easily identifiable fix. I will run through some other systems before having it towed to the shop.

Patriot Sport 2.4L

  • Manual transmission
  • 62,000 miles

Air control valve motor on the intake manifold went bad. caused the car to idle rough. the vent wasn't stuck but the motor needed replaced. easy to access and only costs about 80 bucks. Several things have broken on this vehicle I would not expect for being only 4 years old and 60k miles. I expected to run into problems around 80 k and/5 years. That's what I get for buying American to support our economy. I wish the US could make a half good car.

Patriot Limited 2.4L 4 cyl

  • Manual transmission
  • 7,500 miles

About 6 months after purchasing my 2009 Jeep Patriot Limited 4x4, manual transmission, I started having issues with it stalling out when put in neutral or sitting still, on flat road, at a stop sign or red light. The problem seems to have occurred more and more as the months have passed. It also seems worse in either very cold weather or extremely humid weather. Still no recall on the manual transmissions only the automatic. Could there be a possible issue with the manual transmission also or maybe people just aren't reporting their issues!
