Patriot Limited 2.4L 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 69,000 miles

This is the fourth time that ABS system gives problems. 4 Sensors, front & rear, were replaced before, under warranty. Now this time two more: both front speed sensors were dead, ie no signal reported by tech. Called closest dealer, they sell them like pancakes, THE PARTS DEPT KEEP A GOOD STOCK OF THEM!. Other cars sensors don't fail as often. (I know this is in the unsprung part of the wheels, but this is too much!) Shocks were replaced this past year. It looks that these sensors can't take the beating, by design! (9 years & 69,000mi is not a heavy use, ie less that 8000mi./yr)

Long story short: Just replaced them this past week Got a deal for $230.00, All warning lights are gone, car is back in shape. Wonder for how long... Bottom Line is: I WILL NOT BUY ANY JEEP AGAIN!!!

Patriot Sport 2.4L

  • Manual transmission
  • 66,000 miles

Had this same sensor module replaced back in December 2014. It and the labor and diagnosis and related master cylinder cost me about $1266. Now 7 months later and about 6000 miles later I'm having the same issue. ALL the lights are back on. Dealer wants me to pay for the whole deal again. Soup to nuts. PAY AGAIN? Because the defective part went bad while I was on vacation/Work trip I wasn't able to return the car to the dealership until 14,000 miles. The dealership claims the part is only warranted for 12,000 miles. The warranty was extended to two year back in May 2015 but my repair done in December 2014 doesn't qualify!!

The dealership is unwilling to work with me and Jeep is putting vehicles with defective safety parts on the road and not standing behind its product. I can only imagine how many people are driving around with disabled safety features because they can not afford to fix or in my case fix AGAIN! I'm not paying again. These bad parts should be recalled! I will contact the NTSHB about this and file a class action suit against Jeep on this. This is no better than the defective airbag situation that is causing the millions of recalls.
