CarComplaints.com Notes: On August 16th, 2012 Jeep stopped production of the the Jeep Liberty, marking the end of a troublesome journey for the SUV.

All in all, the 2012 Liberty actually excels off-road, but since 99% of drivers never take this thing off pavement, that becomes somewhat of a moot point. The Liberty suffers from the worst fuel economy in its class (16/22 MPG) and offers an uncomfortable ride with suspect braking ability.

Two codes - po code 300 and po code 172. I changed fuel injectors, coil packs, plugs, wires, crank and sensor - which the dealer disregarded. He said he put that stuff in there. Now I have to bring it back, it's leaking fluid also. The problem is not solved.

I took it to the dealer. The mechanics suck - what I have forgotten, they will never know.

Since i had this vehicle, its been horrible . Engine light stays on... brought the vehicle back three different times for service and lost of work and earnings from my New York City Fire Department Job. Jeep service experts stated claim that my vehicle was fixed with all new parts and ready for the road. You would think that if Larchmont Jeep dealer would have service ALL vehicles before sale?

Presently as we speak, my Engine Light is back on and there is NO heat, heating system failed ! I conferred with Manger John at said location however, he wants me to bring my vehicle back on Monday, December 10, 2018 once again for service. It's costing me time and money that I don't have and extremely inconveniencing my safety and lifestyle driving this Jeep vehicle. Furthermore, went to Eastchester Chrysler Jeep for service and manger stated that this jeep is a lemon.... Have part on back order regarding Engine light being on.

I have had this thing in 3 times in that past month, they say that they replaced a PCM, found a cracked spark plug in cylinder 3, replaced it. Picked it up was doing the same thing had a tune up spark plugs replaced again. Took it back in and was pretty much threatened by the Service Staff that if I didn't do the work there it would void my warranty. Our mechanic says the carbon tracking is from valve issues which are interior engine issues.

I am at my wits end. We have limited access to dealers up here for Jeep. It now has 59000 miles on it. Please help

When I purchased this vehicle I was told it was going to last longer then my last one that had almost 300,000 miles on it .driving along at 55 mph, the engine started to make a tapping noise. check engine light came on, then the jeep just died. 50 miles from my home .Had to have it towed to the dealership. they said the valve seat dropped. the cost of the repair is more then its worth..I call jeep complaint department .1800]334-9200 They said they have no complaints on this .they gave me a number for my compaint 291 246 58 so its on record. funny how there's so many people on the internet with this problem, and companies selling replacement heats just for this problem....

Check engine light on. Took to Chrysler/Jeep dealership. They found oxygen sensor trouble codes for upstream sensor on left side and downstream sensor on right side. They said they replaced sensors, but replaced both upstream sensors instead of 1 upstream and 1 downstream. Check engine light back on in less than 2 miles away from dealership. Dealership then replaced the PCM, check engine light came back on next day. They replaced the oxygen sensor on left side that had already been replaced. Check engine light back on before I got off the lot. Same trouble codes as before.

Will now have to take to another shop to have it checked since the dealership has failed 3 times to fix.
