CarComplaints.com Notes: On August 16th, 2012 Jeep stopped production of the the Jeep Liberty, marking the end of a troublesome journey for the SUV.
All in all, the 2012 Liberty actually excels off-road, but since 99% of drivers never take this thing off pavement, that becomes somewhat of a moot point. The Liberty suffers from the worst fuel economy in its class (16/22 MPG) and offers an uncomfortable ride with suspect braking ability.

Took to the Jeep dealership. They kept the car for two weeks and said; we do not know what is wrong. Took my Jeep to a second dealership who found the problem one week later. Both dealerships took the car home every night to experience the problem. One month later the problem was resolved by replacing the TIPM at a cost of $1391.20.
The problem was all dash lights came on and started to blink. The headlights were turning on and off, the wipers came on, the speedometer and all gauges would not work. At times the headlights went off while I was driving home from work at 12am. Broke two sets of wipers because I could not turn them off and I could not spray the windshield with water because the pump did not work. The car radio went out and never worked again.
The car was a hazard to drive, but had to go to work. I found out there was a lawsuit on this issue.
