CarComplaints.com Notes: On August 16th, 2012 Jeep stopped production of the the Jeep Liberty, marking the end of a troublesome journey for the SUV.
All in all, the 2012 Liberty actually excels off-road, but since 99% of drivers never take this thing off pavement, that becomes somewhat of a moot point. The Liberty suffers from the worst fuel economy in its class (16/22 MPG) and offers an uncomfortable ride with suspect braking ability.

Brought home my brand new, 2012 Jeep Liberty Jet Limited in August. Had the car for 2 days and it would start. Long, annoying, story short - when the car has approximately 30 miles left until empty (under 1/4 of a tank) and I park on a hill (I live on a hill), the car registers as empty.
The fuel pump has been replaced, DID NOT FIX the problem. My guess is that they all do this and not many people have noticed because they do not live on a steep hill. My dealership does not know how to fix this problem but they have a few inquiries.
What is really annoying is that Jeep does not give loaner cars. It is a manufacturer defect and I am supposed to rent a car or find rides???? I traded in my 2002 mercedes ML for this Jeep. If I could afford another one, I would buy another Mercedes ML.
