CarComplaints.com Notes: On August 16th, 2012 Jeep stopped production of the the Jeep Liberty, marking the end of a troublesome journey for the SUV.
All in all, the 2012 Liberty actually excels off-road, but since 99% of drivers never take this thing off pavement, that becomes somewhat of a moot point. The Liberty suffers from the worst fuel economy in its class (16/22 MPG) and offers an uncomfortable ride with suspect braking ability.

Took the 2012 Jeep Liberty in because the doors would only lock manually. Not a big deal. They had to pull the car apart to find the harness was faulty - $1700 cost to fix.
While replacing the electrical harness the TIPM shorted and we were told it would cost $850 to replace. The car isn't drivable, and we don't know when we'll get the part. It has been with the dealership garage where we purchased the car for 8 weeks now. No replacement car has been offered. We took in a perfectly useable car and have had to rely on one car for two months, with no idea when we'll get the second car back. Everyday it is costing us money (hire cars, taxis, etc.), while the car depreciates in value.
Chrysler care was helpful up until a point. They now think they've done as much as they can by referring my case to a 'parts manager' who never calls back. Their response is now, frankly, rude. In some ways I now sympathize with the dealers.
