All in all, the 2012 Liberty actually excels off-road, but since 99% of drivers never take this thing off pavement, that becomes somewhat of a moot point. The Liberty suffers from the worst fuel economy in its class (16/22 MPG) and offers an uncomfortable ride with suspect braking ability.
One owner, bought as new car - wipers occasionally activate by turn signal; air circulation switches to outside air and the low tire pressure warning comes on occasionally when the tires are properly inflated, sometimes during highway trips. While under warranty, I was told by the Jeep dealer that if the problem could be reproduced they would repair it but if not, then there would be a $100 charge for keeping the car for a day and paying the college student to drive it around diagnosing it with a computer.
