CarComplaints.com Notes: On August 16th, 2012 Jeep stopped production of the the Jeep Liberty, marking the end of a troublesome journey for the SUV.
All in all, the 2012 Liberty actually excels off-road, but since 99% of drivers never take this thing off pavement, that becomes somewhat of a moot point. The Liberty suffers from the worst fuel economy in its class (16/22 MPG) and offers an uncomfortable ride with suspect braking ability.

Bought the Jeep used in March 2017, and by July 2018 I started having issues. Took me 9 months to get fixed and I had no car. Since I had no warranty on it, it sat in the garage taped up and unable to drive. Dealer said some cables broke, that took 9 months to get placed. Everything is discontinued for that year so it all had to be made. Once I got the parts in Jan 2019, they came across other issues. Luckily my boyfriend was able to fix for the dealer. I can still open and close once in awhile, but they told me to just leave it closed or something else may break. I am not the only person around either that had the same issue. Dealer said they have more people waiting on parts. Jeep should put this in as a recall! Wish I would have known there were issues with the skyslider before I bought it!
