The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Liberty. While driving 65 mph with the vehicle speed control on, the speed suddenly decreased, the vehicle shifted out of gear for about a second and then back into the previous gear. This has been a continuous problem since the vehicle was purchased. While stopping at a traffic light there was a sudden lunging motion in the transmission and it changed gears as he continued to drive the vehicle. The vehicle continued to change into another gear and this was an automatic transmission that should not be changing continuously. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they inspected the transmission and could not find any problems with the gears. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The VIN was unavailable. The failure mileage was 5,700.
