No matter how slow I have gas going in, at the end It backs up and flows all over the rear fender to the ground..Have to keep wiping off the tank lid and fender and stinks after from fumes for days if hot day.

So I have this Jeep that is spilling gas after the pumps stop. I get at least a quart of gas spilling out. I see a lot of others having a problem so this must be a MFG. defect and if I take it to dealer to fix what's to say the new part isn't going to do the same thing? If the mfg doesn't agree there is a problem they can clearly come to my Jeep and put gas in it for me and show me what I am doing wrong even through I do the same thing in everyone of my other cars and have no issues like this.

This is I would say a MFG problem looking online and seeing it for all models of the Liberty. There should be a recall on this this doesn't happen with other models of the same MFG. They have a problem. Can't wait to see this happen in the heat and a fire starts because the gas pours out on to the ground. Another good reason not to have a smoke when filling you Jeep up with gas.

Each time I fill up, gasoline overflows from the tank on the ground, the owner and the side of the Jeep. I have loved my Jeeps. Had a 1996 w/250,000 miles before this one. Chrysler will only say my 2009 Jeep is "no longer under warranty". This is not right. This is clearly a defective part. Come on Chrysler, this is a safety issue!! No more Jeeps for this gal.
