The problem started a year ago when the dealer, Browns Chrysler Jeep Service, said the water pump went bad. They called me up and told us the water pump went bad and they replaced it under the extended warranty, but the heater core was clogged up and it would cost $1200.00 to replace the heater core to make it work. I told them flush the heater core to get the contaminants out, they claimed that would not work! So I told them if it's not covered forget it!
One year later the Liberty is no longer under any warranty. We took it to our local repair shop. I explained to our mechanic that we had a leak and no heat in our Jeep. We found that not only has the water pump failed, but the dealer never changed it!!!!! Our mechanic replaced the water pump, thermostat, and flushed out the heater coil and we were good to go!!!!! It cost us $500.00 compared to the dealers cost of $1200.00 with the so called replacement of the water pump!! I am glad we did not let the Dealer replace the heater core and rip us off all that money!!!
We will never buy another thing from Browns Chrysler Jeep! They are very dishonest and even if you have an extended warranty in place, they don't do the work or replace the parts they should!! Not to mention they look to pad up the bill while your there with unnecessary repairs!!!!
