OMG, this issue happened exactly as the first time I bought my car. I started smelling a strange smell coming through my vents and then the A/C went off and after looking around we found that the A/C Evaporator will need to be replaced and that was a pain in the ass because you have to take all the dashboard out to reach the HVAC. They did fixed it but after 6 months the same problem accrued and I did spend a lot of money again just to fix it, and it leaked again February this year and I had to replace it once again.
I realized that because my vehicle was not equipped with A/C filter the dust gets inside and by the help of the vapor it will block the very end corner of the Evaporator and starts the problem.
