I am having shudder /shudder at anywhere between 30-45 mph. It feels like my car is searching for a gear, it surges. Torque converter could be the issue.
We recently purchased a 2007 Jeep Liberty sport. After owning it for less than a month we started to notice that the vehicle would shake (or shudder) when maintaining speeds between 35-70 mph. The problem seemed to get worse when driving up hills. We took the vehicle in to a local Jeep dealership and the torque converter was replaced. We have had the vehicle back for approximately a month now and are experiencing the shudder again. We have an appointment with the service shop next week.
- the contact stated that while the 2007 Jeep Liberty with 32000 current mileage was in the shop for a lower ball joint and a torque converter recall the mechanic cut the shroud that covered the fan.therefore, the fan was exposed. The dealer admitted to cutting the shroud, and they will replace it.
