The contact investigated a fire involving a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the vehicle was hit from the rear and the fuel ignited. The vehicle had stopped suddenly in front of another vehicle that was traveling 15 mph. The bullet vehicle nosed under the rear of the target vehcle. The fire destroyed both vehicles and damaged another vehicle parked nearby. The Liberty's fuel tank was destroyed by the fire leaving the tank support straps hanging. The failure and current mileages were 47000. Investigation indicated the cause of the crash was road rage. Updated 12/10/10 see also 10366653.
