At 3000 miles from new it became difficult to remove the key even though the vehicle was in park. Sometimes the driver had to restart the vehicle several times and move the gearshift into park multiple times before the key could be removed. After this occurred many times the vehicle was returned to the dealer for repair. Unknown parts were replaced and the problem was fixed. Now at 7000 miles from new the problem has reoccurred. From reading blogs on the web this is a longstanding problem that the manufacturer is unable or unwilling to correct permanently! the necessity to carry on with one's day means that the key will be left in the ignition with the car unattended with all the safety implications that implies; theft, children, etc.
