The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. While driving approximately 50 mph, the ABS light illuminated on the instrument panel. When the driver approached a stop sign, she noticed that the brakes were not working properly. The brakes then completely failed and the vehicle felt as if it were accelerating, causing her to crash into another vehicle. A police report was filed. The vehicle was still able to be driven, but the brakes barely work. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was not included in the recall. The recall number was unknown. The current and failure mileages were approximately 9,000.
