This is the second time in four years that the high pressure power steering hose leaks. This time I took it out of the Jeep myself (requiring everything removed from the front, only thing left was the smaller rad/coils for the transmission fluid sitting in the very front of the vehicle). Brought the hose to a hydraulic repair shop, got it fixed for about $230...with double steel braided hose and rated for -70 Celsius temp. Dealer wanted $580 for this hose...I was not going to put OEM junk in the Jeep again.
By the way, my Jeep Liberty is a Diesel. Part number for the hose that was replace four years ago is 2129342AF.
My hose now is in three sections, way easier to work with when installing. And if it leaks ever at all, I can get the one section out and fixed instead of dealing with this long, oily, greasy snake of a hose.
