Jeep Dealership in Del Rio TX replaced AC compressor(#1) it took over a week to get the part in stock to do the repair.
The AC stopped working within 2 weeks and the Del Rio dealership replaced the compressor (#2) again on
July 26, 2012 60, 599 mileage and again (#3) on September 10, 2012 62, 578 mileage. Del Rio Jeep dealership assured me the warranty started again each time the part was replaced.
Air Force moved us to Tucson AZ where the AC stopped working again in November and Tucson Jeep dealership said compressor was fine, shrader valves needed replacing ($300 + dollars) in early December 2012.
March 22, 2013 the AC stopped again and compressor #4 was installed by Tucson Jeep. Was informed that warranty did not start again with each replacement compressor and would end at 12,000 miles from installation of #1 compressor. Was also informed for the first time that I had not been receiving a NEW compressor at any of the past repairs as they were no longer made. All that could be bought was re manufactured compressors for the Jeep Liberty.
April 2013 AC stopped working and Tucson Jeep said it was condenser, not compressor. $1,300 was the estimate to repair. Took to local AC shop where mechanic said condenser was fine, compressor was problem. Took back to Tucson Jeep, talked to head mechanic who agreed compressor was blown and #5 was installed under warranty.
May 2013...guess what, AC stopped working. Tucson Jeep suggested replacement of entire AC system for major$$$ Compressor was still under warranty. Had Tucson Jeep replace compressor #6 and local AC mechanic shop replace the rest of the new AC for less than half than Tucson Jeep estimate.
June 2nd the AC stopped working again. Compressor has blown fluid all over engine. Tucson Jeep says my warranty is no longer valid and I will have to pay for the repairs. It was 115 in Tucson yesterday.
I think it is time to investigate the Lemon Law and contact Jeep Headquarters. Has anyone had any experience similar to this?
