Wednesday December 20 2017, my wife and I were driving East on hwy 10 during snowy conditions, when we hit black ice at 50 mph. The vehicle spun 360 and hit a guard rail at 40-45 mph. The airbags in the vehicle did not deploy resulting major injuries to my wife (passenger) broken sternum and right broken tibia, which was corrected with major surgery and rehabilitation. The roads were snowy, traffic was at 45-50mph in a 60 mph speed limit zone. The accident happened on hwy10 E and ferry St in anoka Minnesota. The Jeep Liberty is totaled and my wife is suffering from injuries would have been severe, would the safety airbags had deployed and kept my wife from moving forward into the dash.

I took my vehicle to the dealership to have the orc module replaced as part of recall campaing R06. The service writer informed me that after R/R of orc, they had to replace the front impact sensors, which was not part of the recall, and afterwards they could not communicate with the orc and it would cost me $100 or so to have issue diagnosed. I couldn't afford it and now have no air bags. Also after leaving the dealership I noticed the pass. Seatbelt is in a constant locked position while the drivers side seat belt never locks even when brakes are applied. Fca said I wld need to pay for the diagnosis & if found to be related to the orc recall fca would reimburse me but I can't afford the diagnosis fee. So now I have to drive a vehicle with no air bags and no seat belts. How can this be considered a remedy to a recall situation" fca stated that it did sound like it would be related to the orc recall. If that is the case why should I have to pay for the diagnosis? it doesn't sound like to me that fca truly cares about the safety of their customers. Is there anything that can be done to get this rectified without cost to the customer" this happened in may of 2016 & I didn't know I could report the incident to anyone or should even question it until I spoke with a neighbor who used to work for a dealership who advised me to look into the issue further as he said it didn't sound right to him.

We keep getting recall notices on the air bags on our Jeep. However, every time we take it to the dealer for repair we are told they do not have the parts to fix it. They tell us they will call when parts and solution is available. We have taken notices in to them 3 times and it is still not fixed as they say they do not have parts. Are we being played by a dealer who does not want to fix this" or are there really no parts to fix this issue"

Hello, our Jeep often or always had the airbag light warning on the dashboard. This was a concern of ours, and we had heard awhile back that there was a recall on Jeep Liberty airbag. When attempting to take it in for the recall fix, the company wanted an amount of money that we couldn't afford. Recently my mom was in a car wreck, destroying the vehicles entire front and making it unusable. She told me she only received burns and that she probably wouldv'E been ok if the damaged airbags were fixed. She mentioned to me she received burns on her arms that were the fault of the bad airbags that werent any good. She would be willing to explain this better than I can since I only know that much. Her hand this morning is now swollen from the injury. The vehicle was in a head on car collision with another person set to enter the freeway on a city street

On November 14,2016 I had the occupant restraint control module replaced due to a recall launched on November 25,2015. In the recall it also stated that the sensors were to be replaced. Since the "fix" my air bag light has gone on and off, now for the last three weeks the air bag light is on all the time. Was told by auto nation Jeep dealer on March third 2017 that it would cost me approximately $787 and change to fix. Was also told that the sensors for my vehicle were not part of the recall. Need to know if I should take it to another dealer or any other options needed to take.

On March 2015 due to a recall M35 (orc filter circuit) for airbags was installed on my vehicle. After installation my airbag light came on (my Jeep never, never has issues with airbags until they installed part. Recently I received another recall from fca R06 (occupant restrain module) due to installation of M35 orc filter circuit to the airbag module. Also there is a revision dated May 2016 to remove recall M35 (orc filter circuit module) and replace airbags control module with front impact sensors. I only took vehicle for extra safety measurements. And due to installation of airbag control module filter circuit my airbags system got affected/damage.
