I have a set of 4 uniroyal liberator A/T P235 70R16 tires dot apo8 C62U 4410 that have horrible problems. One of them is so elliptical that you feel like you are riding on a egg shaped tire that almost makes you sick at slower speeds. It has a awful vibration at higher speeds. The other 3 of the set are so out of balance that even with 5 ounces of weight, the tires still vibrate.

Where to begin" my airbag light has been coming on for months while driving. I took it to a Chrysler dealership 6 months ago & was charged $100 for them to tell me they didn't know what was wrong. About a month ago, while driving on the highway, my headlights went out, came back on, went out again, and finally I hit my high beams and they stayed on. My engine uses about 2 quarts of oil per week. I have parked on clean surfaces & there is no oil leaking, but it is going somewhere. I can hear a ticking noise coming from the engine area. I called Chrysler's toll-free number today after the headlights went out again, and was informed that my Jeep is under recall for the air bag module, and maybe that is what is causing the lights to go out. This makes no sense to me that one would have anything to do with the other. I told them that I have seen other complaints about the headlights, but they stated that they've had no complaints. I have also replaced front tires three times in the past year for wear on the outside edge. I've had the Jeep aligned, tires rotated as they should be, and they just keep balding on the outer edge. The service tech said that Jeep eat through tires because of the wheel base" this car has all but eaten up most of my income. It is constantly having issues, and I get nowhere with Chrysler.

On May 2nd,2010, my wife and son heard an explosion outside in our driveway. When they went out to see what it was, they found the spare tire on the back of our 2002 Jeep Liberty had blown up. It is a Goodyear Wrangler tire made in 2002. It has only been used once for a couple hundred miles which brings me to the other reason for my complaint. Last fall while driving to a marlins game in miami as I was accelerating on an on ramp getting on to I 95 the left rear tire exploded through the sidewall and ripped apart. This tire was less than a year old as we had bought a complete set of 4. this tire again was a Goodyear Wrangler. My wife is now afraid to drive the car and I have a 15 year old about to get his license. I reported this tire failure to your website when it happened. Other than a notice that it was received I really didn't learn anything else. I would like to know if there is an on going problem with these tires as I fear they seem to explode at will for no good reason. Could someone respond.

My son and a couple of his friends and I were traveling to a marlins game, about a 2 hr. Drive from our house. I had made a visual ck. Of tires while fueling car before getting on I-95. All looked fine. About 3-4 miles as I was getting on I-95 the left rear tire blew out. I pulled off to a safe area and changed tire. Something seemed odd to me so the next day I inspected the tire to see if I could find any reason for the blow out. Tires are not that old and they appeared to have plenty of tread [3/8"]. to the untrained eye all seemed normal as I could find nothing on the tread area that would indicate any damage to that part of tire. The outer sidewall was shredded as I had to drive about a 1/4 mile to get off the on ramp to a safe area to change tire, inner sidewall showed little damage. I recall hitting or running over nothing that would have caused any damage to tire. My concern is that I have these tires on the other wheels as well as spare tire.this is my wife's car and I want to be sure she and my son will be safe. I've had tires go flat before but after making a point of checking them prior to our trip and the odd way they went flat I became suspicious that maybe something is wrong here. I'll have to take them back to dealer for replacement I'll see if they'll allow me to keep tire if you would like to inspect it. Thank you jim dirks..

The contact owns a 2002 Jeep Liberty. While driving 55-60 mph, the vehicle pulled to the right and the steering wheel vibrated. The contact also heard a humming noise coming from the front tires. The dealer has not inspected the vehicle. The contact felt that the humming noise was due to excessive wear caused by the lower ball joints. The contact received recall notice number 03V460000 (suspension:front:control arm:lower ball joint) on August 2, 2007. He feels that the tires should be replaced as part of the recall. As of August 3, 2007, the ball joints have not been replaced. The current mileage was 62,000 and failure mileage was 60,000. The consumer stated the lower ball joint has been repaired and the cupped tires were then rotated to the rear of the vehicle and the consumer stated there is still a loose feeling in the rear of the vehicle. After the dealership replaced the driver side lower ball joints for recall 03V460000 the vehicle's alignment was off, and the front end shook and pulled to the right when speed reached and exceeded 50 mph. Also, front tires needs to be replaced because they were cropping. Prior to repair, vehicle was operating fine. Dealer refused realignment of the vehicle, per request of the consumer, because it was not covered under the scope of the recall. Also, all four tries were replaced at 8,000 miles on vehicle.

I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty and on Oct. 7, 2003, I had an incident in which my steering wheel and tires locked up during a left turn causing me to turn in a full 360 facing the car that was behind me. This was on a Tuesday. On Friday, Oct. 10, 2003, I was making a right turn into a gas station and my car skidded causing me to lose brief control of my car again. I was able to straighten up the car and avoid another 360 and possible collision with gas pumps. Luckily, no one was hurt and there was not any property damage in either situation. At this point, I contacted the dealership ([xxx]) who told me it was my tires. I went to Goodyear and they said my tires were fine and I should go to the dealership. I called the dealership back and they told me to bring it in and they would check it over but they had not heard of this problem before. They were unable to find anything wrong with my car and I really didn't feel like I received good customer service. My reason for submitting this now is because I have seen articles and my mother heard it on the news that there has been a recent recall on 2002 Jeep liberties that might explain what happened. I contacted the dealership tonight and asked them about a recall and they denied that there is one. I am also unable to find it on your sight although the article I read stated it as being released by you. I have been lucky that it has not happened again but I do not feel as safe in my car as I did before the incidents. Please contact me and let me know if there is a recall and if not, please document my complaint. The next person may not be as lucky. Thank you, [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
