Well my 2002 jeep liberty has been messed up lately, it will just not crank so I thought it was the battery but it turned out to be the ignition switch also it did this off an on for about 6months, the heat went out when I bought it and it will act as if it is overheating but it won't do anything for while then all of my windows have problems with the motor s in them the suspension, control arms I've had to change, and the cruise control button will stick and keep going while you are driving it almost caused me to wreck on the interstate you have to turn the vehicle completely off once you get it to stop if you can get it to stop. out of all the vehicles I've had this is the first to take off by itself

Driving along behind several other vehicles, the weather was warm and the roadway was dry. Due to a red light, vehicles ahead rapidly slowed to a stop. I was traveling at about 30mph and applied my brake pedal to avoid hitting the slowly moving vehicle ahead. My vehicle failed to slow down and I pumped the brakes to no avail. I turned to the right and continued to pump the brake pedal. The brake finally caught and the vehicle came to a stop within two feet to the right of the stopped vehicle ahead. It resembled the feeling of ABS on an icy road, but road conditions were excellent at the time. I have been extremely cautious driving this vehicle since the brake failure. There is good brake pedal and the master cylinder is filled with brake fluid. I am uncomfortable driving this vehicle and after reading a multitude of other mishaps by other 2002 Liberty owners, this is a dangerous malfunction.

The brake line from the metal tubing connected to the disc brake caliper assembly disconnected from the rubber tubing portion of the brake line suddenly during braking. This resulted in the 2002 Jeep Liberty running into our garage door. My experience has been that normally these brake lines are a press-fit assembly so that they may leak, but not fail catastrophically like this. This appears to be a manufacturing defect. Fortunately, the accident occurred pulling into the driveway and not at an intersection with another vehicle. This was a poor design and is unsafe!

Rear axle seals leaking replaced seals, bearings, and brakes on both sides. Engine started using excessive oil, sometime up to 2-3 quarts low, no smoke or leaks detected. All the power windows started malfunctioning one by one, would not go back up, still working issue. Rear wiper does not work. Had to replace rear brake light units twice due to shorts in wiring. Replace plastic radiator and electric cooling fan.

During inspection for vacation found rust and corrosion where brake lines are threaded into brake assemble on front wheels. There is a rubber bumper to protect against rubbing but if pushed up to far onto crimped fitting it allows water and dirt to collect and rust part. Mechanic said under hard braking fitting will burst causing loss of brakes. I understand this is quite common. Needs a new design to prevent this from happening.
