The contact owned a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that upon pulling into a parking spot and depressing the brake pedal to come to a stop, the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle rolled up the curb, went through the plate glass of a building, and stopped. There was no warning light illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. The contact exited the vehicle through the liftgate. There were no injuries sustained. The building was damaged. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The vehicle was towed to Gerber Collision & Glass(110 OR-99W, McMinnville, OR 97128), where a jeep field inspector inspected the vehicle. The manufacturer then sent a letter to the contact and informed the contact that based on the inspection, there was no evidence of brake failure and that the failure was not the manufacturer's responsibility. The vehicle was then towed and totaled by the insurance company. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number:?24V132000?(Suspension, Steering), which the contact related to the failure. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 19,210.
