The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V720000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that at start-up, the power steering, stability control, and check engine warning lights illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle at approximately 10-15 MPH with the warning lights illuminated and the vehicle lost power steering functionality. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer who diagnosed that the coolant heater module had failed, causing the power steering loss, making the vehicle inoperable. The vehicle was repaired. The warning lights were cleared by the dealer. The dealer was unable to perform the recall repair because parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was 15,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
