Since [XXX], my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee has experienced multiple ongoing electrical issues. Initially, my car wouldn't start in the morning so I called Chrysler's roadside assistance and had the car jump started, then brought it to the dealership as a precaution to get it checked out. The dealership determined that the main battery had issues and so they replaced it with a new main battery. However, my car wouldn't start again the following day, and so I had the car towed, as per the dealership's request, then brought to the dealership for further inspection. The module that the technician installed did not fix the problem, and instead he determined that there were further electrical issues with my car. The technician has checked and tested all components related to the charging system, battery, alternator, starter, all relays, fuses, and wiring in the TIPM. The technician said the problem was sourcing from something slowly draining the power while the vehicle is off. And rather than "staying asleep, " something would intermittently wake up the car, but only for about a second or two, then everything would go back to normal. According to my service advisor, if this was a constant remaining draw, the technician would have had it diagnosed a long time ago, but the fact that it is intermittent, along with the fact that there are a lot of electrical components in the vehicle, it's posing as an even bigger challenge. This led to opening a Star Case, which gets the engineers involved to assist with the diagnostic procedure. Since then, they had replaced the PDC and relay to my car. The technician replaced the body control module but the issue was still not fixed. Then, the manufacturer sent their service engineer (TA) to further evaluate the problem. This TA advised to replace another PDC module, but again, the issue was still not fixed. My car has now been at the dealership for 85 days and they have failed to resolve the electrical draining issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA),

My partner and I were driving from Oakland, CA to Petaluma, CA on [XXX], 2024. While driving approximately 75 mph the car shut down and i had to guide it to the side of the highway. It was frightening and we were almost was hit by passing traffic. The display screen and electrical system were going haywire - turtle sign to check engine to random messages stating the car was OK to start. After about 25 minutes, the car started on its own. At the time of the incident, there was just under a half tank of gas. In the weeks since, the car has randomly shutoff and turned itself back on. A nearby Jeep dealer in San Leandro, CA indicated he has heard of similar issue with other Jeep Grand Cherokees. Having read about this I do not trust Jeep as their response was "oh this happens with the 4xe." We purchased this vehicle in August of 2023 and have approximately 6400 miles on it. Fully maintained and no warning lights. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The vehicle makes a metal like grinding noise when stoping and shutting off the engine. has had numerous problems where multiple warnings lights will appear on the instrument cluster followed by the vehicle losing power steering and the ability to be controlled. The radio screen with black out and functions will be rendered unusable through the radio, intermediately. The vehicle displays active error codes to include loss of communication with body control module. The vehicle will crank and drive off without a key fob present in the vehicle. The vehicles engine is making a loud knocking noise. The vehicle has been to three different dealerships and has been unable to be fixed despite several hard resets/updates/-??flashes-?? and a power steering assembly replacement.

Since purchase, I have had problems with the U Connect system, which at times renders all communication and some luxury items to be inoperable 1 week ago, car completely had both batteries drain spontaneously. Dealer replaced both batteries with no further explanation. On 5/21, on highway trip, warning lights came on, lane assist, blind spot, ABS stopped working. A/c was blowing hard, but could not adjust. Windows would not open. Hatch would not open, back doors would not open, door lock/ unlock did not work. Could only use handle on inside to open car. Could not adjust side mirrors. Promptly rerouted my day trip back home via side roads and not expressway due to uncertainty of safety. Drove it right to dealer and left the car running while checking in. Car starting flashing lights while service writer was checking car in. Then all lights- headlights and tail lights went dark without touching car. Engine still running. Car is not safe or reliable to drive. Had 12,400 miles and have owned it 18 months. Mostly highway driven by retired couple. 5 th service of electrical issues since purchase. It has been kept multiple days each time.

When crossing the border into Mexico the AEB module falsely reports it has malfunctioned due to "geo fence" limitations. At least that is the cause of the issue per the service department. This causes the AEB system to stay offline and inoperable which also affects the Lane Departure Warning System as well as prevents the use of Adaptive Cruise Control. Supposedly there will be a "Software Update" coming--it was supposed to happen in Q4 of 2023 and now they say Q1 2024 which has ended and no update. The safety of the vehicle is compromised as key safety features are offline.

Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than the dealer. Currently Check Engine Light is on with Air Suspension Fault Light on as well. There was no warning to the vehicle losing power.

When starting and stopping the engine an awful noise is heard, it sounds like metal is grinding for about 2 seconds. Also on one occasion the electrical system seems to go haywire, as my power lift gate would not work. I tried several things to include turning the vehicle on and off, pressing the lift gate button several times, pressing my clicker, and pressing the lift gate button in the cabin area of the vehicle, to no avail. I finally had to pull the lift gate down, while this was occuring the inside the vehicle on the lift gate lights would turn on and off it was the strangest thing.

The vehicles climate control/hvac system has inadequate ventilation that prevents air movement to occur. In cold tempatures all all of the vehicles windows fog and ice over form the inside. This results in the driver loosing visibility out of any window. During cold weather conditions, the rear passengers, windows, and rear wind window, even with defrost drawn ice up immediately along with the double moon roof. Problem limits, visibility, making the vehicle, unsafe to drive due to the limited visibility caused by this inadequate and design deficiency. There are no heating system vents besides in the front dash of the vehicle due to the moonroof. The rear climate controls do nothing to remedy of the issue. When I reported the issue to JEEP corporate immediately after purchase, they acknowledged the design deficiency, and that they were working corrected for future models. This is unacceptable and creates a hazardous driver condition for any vehicle. Had I know this prior to purchase I would have never bought the vehicle as there is no remedy.

Vehicle was stuck in 1st gear and would not shift out for 5 minutes. Taken to dealer with engine light on and shown pictures of error messages and dealer found nothing wrong with vehicle. This all happened on a highway and I had to navigate from high speeds to slow and stop in the exit lane.

On 10/07/2023, about 7:30 pm, I was driving down 6th Street in Beaumont California at about 30 mph speed when all of a sudden the engine made a horrible loud noise and it looked like the accelerator pedal was suddenly hit. It seemed that the vehicle speed did not increase accordingly, but my foot had released the gas pedal already. Once I confirmed that the noise was indeed coming from my car, I pulled over and turned off the engine while the loud noise was continuing. Then I restarted the car and the problem didn't reoccur this time. Then, the car has performed normally.

Driving Screen, Swaybar Disconnect systems, Airbags, TPMS, Driving controls such as blinkers, and emergency flashers. The car was functioning normally, with no anomalies or error messages, including through phone notifications. The battery charge was nearly complete. I engaged Electric-Drive mode and used regenerative braking to recharge the battery on my way to town. Approximately 30 minutes into the drive, and with the battery at 99% charge, I heard a loud pop. It sounded like it was coming from the right-side passenger control arm. Shortly after, my dashboard was illuminated with warning lights, including a check engine light and notifications about air suspension and sway bar disconnection, airbags, tpms sensors, and more. The car decelerated dramatically; The dashboard screen flickered on and off as if rebooting. I got the vehicle safely, but during that time, the car seemed to be in limp mode, unresponsive to acceleration, and stiffer than normal breaking. The steering was also affected. I realized that if I had been on the highway, this could have caused a severe accident. Screen, Powertrain, and drivetrain fail while traveling 45+ miles an hour. It is a small 2-way road in turn with mild car and foot traffic around. The dealer has confirmed the issue as an issue that has been present in past vehicles in this model category. The car had been in my possession for less than 24 hours/40 driven miles.

Making left hand turn through 4-way intersection. Car opposite of us also making left hand turn. Our Grand Cherokee collision system thought the two vehicle were going to collide and locked the brakes in the middle of the intersection almost causing a 4 car accident. This is the second time this has happened since purchasing 06/03/23. Driver neck injury sustained. Seeking medical attention. Jeep is currently at the dealership where they are trying to reproduce/diagnose with no success. Multiple online articles found showing complaints of this EXACT issue proving it's not isolated to our vehicle. The uconnect system on this vehicle locks up, glitches and is unresponsive. This makes the hands free function for cell phone use unreliable at best, as well as all touchscreen functions inoperable. The problems with the uconnect systems make driving the car very distracting and potentially unsafe at times. These problems have been inspected by the dealership service department and confirmed not to be normal. The dealership service technicians have attempted to fix these problems four times by replacing two radios, a touchscreen and reloading software. None of these attempts have been successful. The uconnect system has had these issues starting the first week of ownership Nov 2022
