I have an on going unrepaired recall on the electrical system, charging system and possibly the battery. When apply the brake to start my Jeep the brakes sometimes are locked up and I have to push the start button a few times to release them. I was told that was normal at the dealership.

The vehicles dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree while driving ( Abs, traction control, check engine light) and the brakes virtually not functional. This has now occurred 3 times. After the first occurrence and the Abs module being replaced it occurred 17 days later and then stated to be an issue with a software update. 5 days after this occurred again. Booster module replaced...

The automatic emergency braking system activates randomly while driving abruptly stopping the vehicle in traffic. This has happened several times and we no longer feel safe driving. Luckily no one has been behind us when it happens otherwise I feel a crash would be unavoidable. The vehicle has now been to the dealer twice with no repairs made. The techs are always unable to duplicate the concern. Last time this happened my wife was driving around 40mph when the crash warning message flashed and stopped the vehicle. (no one was in the way).

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle was shaking severely, vibrating, and bucking, causing the driver to almost lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle started losing motive power and stalled. During the failure, the "Power Steering" and "Power Brake" failure warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The contact stated that the secondary battery was previously replaced due to a failure with starting the vehicle. The failure mileage was 44,000.

I was on my driveway getting ready to park and the parking brake engaged by itself. I came out of the car because I thought I had a flat but once I got back in the car, I saw the brake line was on. I called a friend with the same car and told him what happened. He told me to step on the brake and release the parking brake. I asked him where it was because I've never used it before. I did as he says and released the parking brake. This could have been catastrophic if I was on the freeway or driving on surface streets. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle anymore.

I have towed this vehicle behind my motorhome for the past year and have used a Brake Buddy system to stop the vehicle should it ever break away from the tow brackets. I used the Brake Buddy system for 5 years on a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee prior to buying this 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee and have never had any issues before. Recently, while towing the vehicle, I set it up for towing as Jeep recommends and either had a malfunction of the Automatic Electronic Brakes (AEB) or the Brake Buddy. Even though the tires never developed a flat spot on them due to dragging the vehicle, there was pressure applied to the brake pedal that caused the brakes to get so hot that the rubber brake lines melted at the fittings or blew out of the fittings causing me to lose all fluid. The NTHSA requires that all light-duty vehicles have AEB systems installed on them by 2026. I questioned Jeep as to the cause of my issue and they determined it was not their fault. I contacted Brake Buddy and they claimed they were just recently made aware of this problem and have since determined their system is not compatible with AEB equipped vehicles. I have talked to several installers that set up tow vehicles to be towed and they are of aware of this. Who has the responsibility to inform the public and industry that there is a problem here? Jeep advertises their vehicle is towable with all 4 wheels on the ground but makes no mention of having to install a State Law required braking system in the tow vehicle or potential compatibility issues. Had this tow vehicle come loose, it could have cause damage and potentially the loss of life!

While driving lost the power brakes making stopping vehicle incredibly difficult having to apply excessive force to brake pedal and shift into neutral to stop. Vehicle could not be driven for service and needed to be towed. If my wife had been driving her car, she would not be able to stop as I (her husband) had to apply leg force as much as I could apply to get vehicle to slow down and had to shift to neutral to stop. We avoided being in an accident but it was very close. Vehicle has been towed for repair and currently do not know what is wrong with the vehicle but it is definitely a safety concern.

Left rear caliper bracket broke on my 2023 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe. The lower caliper bracket bolt was completely loose causing damage to caliper bracket, brake pads, and rotor. Caliper bracket, , pads, and rotor were replaced at dealer as well as items in Safety Recall 10B.

New vehicle within 30 days of purchase date. Vehicle had just turned a corner and went a few more feet driving approximately 5 mph on a flat asphalt RD. The rear end suddenly shook violently, making loud clunking noises and shut off. Vehicle put itself into park. Tried to restart the car and it would only flash all the warning lights. Tow truck took it to Landmark Dodge Jeep in Independence, MO. The shop determined right rear rotor broke in half, and caliper broke off. The rotor breaking cracked inside of wheel. No damage to wheel well, fender, under carriage or body of auto in any way. Turned in the issue to Jeep as defective. They refused to fix it stating turn it into auto insurance. We refused to turn into insurance as it is defective parts. We asked Jeep for a black box report. Jeep refused to run it, so we hired a forensic company to take the black box reading which confirms no possible collision incident. Both black box report specialist and Landmark repair technicians note defective parts are a serious concern on this auto. This could be a larger issue for Jeep. If rotor had broken at a higher speed would have been very serious situation. We are concerned that other 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee owners could be at risk. Jeep has still not responded to our escalation request. They keep advising someone will call us, but it has been over 45 days with no assistance from Jeep in any way. Car is still sitting unrepaired awaiting Jeep Wave escalation to contact us. We do not know if this situation is solely related to the rotor as it could be a larger issue with the vehicle traction control or drive line. We can provide the Semke Forensic Investigative Report findings done by a licensed Senior Mechanical Engineer with NHTSA but ask NHTSA to independently investigate. This is a serious safety concern. Jeep has completely failed to respond or protect us as customers.

My vehicle was stopped for several minutes on an upgrade, with stopped cars in front of me due to a traffic jam. I needed to keep pressure on the brake, lest my car roll backwards. After about three minutes, brake pedal lost pressure and my foot went to floor. The engine then went into gear and my car rammed car in front. Engine stalled on impact and was hard to restart. Vehicle currently at Jeep dealer awaiting inspection from Stellantis tech team. This situation reported to their customer care center. No warning lights appeared on dash prior to crash. Indeed, this could have been a more serious accident. I will never trust this vehicle again, and intend to take steps to exit my lease.

Making left hand turn through 4-way intersection. Car opposite of us also making left hand turn. Our Grand Cherokee collision system thought the two vehicle were going to collide and locked the brakes in the middle of the intersection almost causing a 4 car accident. This is the second time this has happened since purchasing 06/03/23. Driver neck injury sustained. Seeking medical attention. Jeep is currently at the dealership where they are trying to reproduce/diagnose with no success. Multiple online articles found showing complaints of this EXACT issue proving it's not isolated to our vehicle. The vehicle while in cruise set at 70mph accelerated to nearly 90mph and would not disengage even when brake applied, had to turn vehicle off. It has done this twice almost causing an accident. Vehicle has also suddenly applied the brakes very hard while driving approx 55 mph, nothing in front of vehicle. Apparently vehicle was applying the brakes because when we reached home the brake rotors were glowing cherry red. Dealer has looked at it once and said in is probably our pedal getting stuck on the floor mats. I did not have foot on any pedal while in cruise. This last time no check engine light cam on.

I took delivery of the vehicle on February 15, 2023. On May 23, 2023 I was driving 35 MPH and without warning, I lost power steering and the brakes (felt like bricks when I tried to stop the vehicle). The vehicle never slowed and continued at 35 MPH. I had to swerve to not hit other vehicles as I was going through stop lights. I put the car in neutral and it slowed down and then put in park.after about 3-4 attempts of turning off/on, the steering started to work as did the brakes. I drove the.5 mi down the street with my hazard lights on back to my house. At that point the engine light remained on. The dashboard lit up with numerous alerts (I made sure to take pictures of everything). I called a tow truck and sent pictures to the dealership. They had the car for 2 days, called and said that they cannot duplicate the issue, despite receiving and reviewing the pictures I sent. They said no other option but to pick up the vehicle or let the service tech drive the vehicle overnight to see if the issue could be duplicated.

When slowing down at a stop sign, in snowy conditions, the vehicle went into brake assist and locked the brakes up. Causing the vehicle to slide at an interesting and collide with another car. I had complained several times to the dealer about the braking system being to sensitive and touchy before the accident. This was purchased new and the accident happened about 1800 miles on it. Also, the air bag did not deploy. I was told by the dealer, it was because the impact was not hard enough. But the alerts on my phone, said air bag failure Since the accident, I have had this jeep back to the dealer several times. I asked for a full brake inspection, because I have never driven a vehicle that 1- brakes for you for no reason, 2- extremely touchy. The dealer service dept admitted the brakes were touchy, and drove an identical model to compare, and concluded that it must be normal. Didnt actually inspect them. It is NOT normal, and I do not feel safe driving this vehicle in the winter. I have since turned off all brake assist options in the settings, but it is still auto braking. Today at about 3000 miles, when slowing down to make a turn, the emergency braking system started acting up with no one close to me. There is something very wrong with this system, and needs to be addressed before serious injuries happen.

On four separate incidences, the automatic emergency brake engaged while driving the vehicle at speeds in excess of 30 mph. There was no warning or reason for the emergency brake to engage. This resulted in the car needing to be towed to the dealer on two occasions as the vehicle froze and was not drivable. The dealer states they are unable to diagnose the problem or fix it as there are no codes that populate during the diagnostic session. This is an obvious safety hazard as this is a family vehicle with two small children in the rear seats.
