There have now been at least three incidents where the accelerator is pressed and the vehicle does not respond for an extended period of time, then overreacts and launches the vehicle forward unpredictably. Most recently, leaving a parking lot, I pressed the accelerator gently as I normally would, the vehicle just rolled down to the road, no power. As oncoming traffic was coming (now about 5 seconds later), I pressed the pedal further, almost to the floor, the engine engaged and launched the car forward. This has happened in traffic circles, and produces a delay long enough for other drivers to sound their horn, as my vehicle refuses to move for at least 3-5 seconds. This has resulted in many close calls when oncoming traffic is coming and my vehicle will not move as it should - and this type of incident occurs unpredictably.

Today was the second time the AEB engaged while I was driving with no apparent reason. The first was in Nov 2023 while driving on the interstate at about 70 mph. The AEB engaged, slamming the car to an almost stop, alarm blared for a moment and then the car continued operating with no apparent codes or warning lights. Today it did it again while traveling about 30 mph. I was slowing down to turn into a drive. I was still headed straight with no cars around and the AEB engaged, slamming the car to a full stop, with the alarm and the dash flashing something in red. The car then drove off fine with no warning lights or indicators on the dash. I cannot reproduce the AEB reponse. In response to the first occurrence, the dealer -??flashed-?? the software last year. I intend to take it in tomorrow for the reoccurrence. I believe it to be a safety issue not only in that my back hurts terribly from the whiplash of a stop as sudden as hitting a wall, but because had there been a car behind me on either occasion, it is almost certain they would have had to make a dramatic and dangerous swerve to avoid it or rear ended me.

Most Dashboard Electronics FAILED and are available for inspection Steering wheel red light symbol came on and I LOST Power Steering ! Red Triangle Safety symbol turned on Hybrid Electric Vehicle Failure ABS Brake symbol, Loss of brakes Hybrid Service light Engine service symbol Red battery light symbol, Battery power unavailable While driving the speed limit (25mph) in my Village with pedestrians crossing the street and traffic around me, the Jeep 4xe experienced a Cascading Electronic failure with the power steering; brakes; engine power and most electronic functions with the dashboard lighting up every symbol on the screen. I LOST COMPLETE CONTROL In order to regain control of the moving vehicle, I had to FORCE the steering wheel to turn into a Handicap space in front of me while attempting to brake at the same time. I was able to avoid the pedestrians and cars around me as well as the parked car next to me, without causing any damage to myself or those in the vicinity. If I was traveling on the Freeway, loading onto my local Ferry or driving on a major Highway or Freeway onramp, my life and the life of those around me would have been in serious jeopardy because I LOST COMPLETE CONTROL of the Jeep. Jeep FCA arranged to tow the car to the JEEP Dealer who INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, downloaded the computer data, examined the Report, CONFIRMED the multiple PROBLEMS and repaired the vehicle with a detailed description of the problems they encountered. Prior to the complete FAILURE of the 4xe, there were NO warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms or ANY indication of any kind of the impending crisis and near disaster. So far, there have been a total of FOUR RECALLS. Two have been addressed, with the third to be serviced tomorrow and the fourth without parts avaible to keep the wheels from falling off. I have receipts but could not upload them. I'm happy to mail them to you Thank you for your assistance

Brand new car. Driven 600 miles. After shopping at Costco I get to the car and it is completely dead. Will not turn on and every single code possible popped on the screen. Luckily I wasn-??t with my kids or out of town or this could-??ve been a nightmare. How can this happen with a brand new car? Makes me afraid of what may happen in the future.

[XXX], I was driving down [XXX] toward Waynesboro GA, when the radio and dashboard lights started flashing. I assumed that maybe the truck system was resetting when all of a sudden the truck turned off, so I coasted into the middle turn lane on a two lane highway and then the truck filled with smoke from the air conditioning vent and underneath the dash so I attempted to exit the vehicle on the driver side. The truck would not start. Hazard lights would not work. Semi- trucks passing in both directions. My truck was then hit by debris from passing truck while truck was disabled in the middle of the road. The remaining 3 doors on the truck would not open. I had to have the car towed to the nearest Jeep dealership in Waynesboro GA. The dealership can't seem to figure out what's wrong with the truck but want to charge $900 to do a six hour diagnostic. I called Chrysler who is now sending out a third party to do a fire inspection but in the meantime I am out of a vehicle. In August 2023 a recall was issued for my vehicle (Recall 56A) for an issue with the Central Vision Park Assist Module. My CVPAM software was updated per the recall. As soon as this software was completed, my backup and forward facing camera has not functioned properly. Initially my backup camera guidelines disappeared and my forward facing camera guidelines would not turn off. My opened a "Star" case with Chrysler and worked on this issue for 3 months, replacing the camera, updating software, replacing two different camera modules and nothing would correct the issue. In November Chrysler told the dealer not to replace any more hardware and they acknowledged there was an issue with the software update that caused the problem. They informed my dealer that an update would come out to correct the issue in either a recall or a dealer notice. On [XXX] my backup camera and my front facing camera stopped working completely. I took my vehicle back to the dealer and they performed a diagnostic on the system. The same error codes were given to them as was before when only the guidelines were missing. My dealer opened another star case with Chrysler on 1/29/24 to look into the issue but as i write this complaint on 2/7/24 I have not received any additional info from my dealer or Chrysler as to when this issue will be corrected. I have been without a backup camera since [XXX] and I feel this is becoming a greater safety concern with all of the children in my neighborhood. The first occurrence was upon starting the vehicle in a parking lot. The death cluster lit up with power steering unavailable, airbags unavailable, autobrake disengaged, and the the battery warning. The dealership towed the vehicle and replaced the batteries. In April of -??22 While driving the vehicle the power steering became unavailable, forcing a difficult left turn off a major roadway. The same warning lights came on and the vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed and a new power steering rack and steering gear were installed. Third occurrence was in the driveway recently when again upon starting the same warning lights were on and there was no power steering available. The vehicle is at the dealership now being inspected.

- Due to the use of soy-based wire insulation, a rodents nest was formed and found in the engine compartment. Wires were severely damaged from being chewed. The Electrical system failed with multiple open circuits. Evidently, the car has a design flaw. - Open circuits (exposed wires) pose a risk to the vehicle due to fire. Engine performance was rough due to the loss of some of the engine controls and the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module). - Vehicle was inspected by a dealer of the OEM - There was a check engine light, and loss of control electronics (Stop start system control, park assist control, etc. ). Problem first appeared on 11-27-2023.

In Hybrid mode, the transition from gas to battery power is clunky. It surges forward unpredictably and takes a bit to respond when the pedal is pressed. This erratic forward surge has happened several times, including once while my child was drinking water -?" which spilled all over him. The brakes are hard to modulate and are never consistent. When driving in e-save there is an awful engine noise. I typically only try to drive the vehicle in electric mode, but that only lasts to a point. At higher speeds and/or further acceleration, the gas engine kicks on- loudly- and without warning. There is no consistency in when to anticipate this abrupt change in how the vehicle drives as it happens at different intervals (ranging from 0%-3% battery left). This vehicle drives erratically, and I do not trust myself or my children riding in it. On top of this, there have been at least three safety recalls on this in three months. Therefore, I do not drive this vehicle unless necessary. Thus, $60,000 is basically parked in my garage with minimal to no use. I have even recently updated my insurance to reflect that it is not in use.

Battery is not keeping power and vehicle stalled out while going 70 miles and vehicle wouldn-??t power on for more than 10 mins even after charging battery. I am getting 12.0V while going 75 miles and i get 14.0 when I am stopped and parked. Had to have vehicle towed to dealership and they said they couldn-??t recreate the issue. The dealer didn-??t put my engine cover back and my vehicle is still not producing enough power.

Vehicle sets automatic brake when backing up. The back up camera turns red as if something was blocking when nothing is there. When attempting to go in reverse the car kept stoping on its own and putting the emergency break on. It took multiple attempts to get out of the parking lot and has happened more than once.

Two problems: 1- this happened twice, after shutting and exiting the vehicle with the key fob, the vehicle goes crazy, lights start flashing, horn honking and the doors auto lock - very dangerous as my child was locked in the car for a few minutes until i was able to play with the key enough to get it to unlock. problem #2 driving vehicle and as coming to slow down it auto shuts off in middle of road, when trying to put it back into gear it says put foot on break and restart the car. it did restart but it is super dangerous as the car behind me could've hit me as it suddenly stopped.
