I has just purchased a brand new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee 80th Anniversary with all of the bells and whistles. With seven airbags and a chassis that’s manufactured with advanced high-strength steel, the 2021 Grand Cherokee is supposed to be engineered to help direct crash energy away from the cabin, and help protect you from unexpected situations.
I was hit by someone going between 45-50 MPH and NO airbag went off at all, causing me to suffer severe head trauma and other injuries. Additionally, the electronic system suddenly went haywire though the thing was always freezing up or malfunctioning. I was so petrified of the vehicle following the accident that was not my fault, I sold it back to the dealership who admitted there "were issues with the 2021 model" because of the focus on the 2022 redesign.
I am thankful to be alive though my quality of life will never be the same. I hope an investigation is undertaken on this ASAP. I am aware that there were many complaints about the airbags on the 2020 model and there was virtually no change so I truly hope no one loses their life from this poor engineering.
