2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee; Manufacture Date October 2018 Vehicle engine off and vehicle in park in the driveway. Came out to the car to get something out of it and found that the passenger side active headrest safety feature had deployed. My car was not involved any type of collision - nothing has hit my car. It just popped out all on its own when no one was in the car and the vehicle wasn-??t even turned on. I have seen SEVERAL reports on this problem, and Jeep agreed to extend the warranty on this problem indefinitely but only on year models up to 2018. My vehicle was manufactured in 2018 but the dealer says my vehicle VIN is not included for this warranty. That-??s ridiculous! The same exact problem has occurred to my headrest that they cover for everyone else but not my vehicle. Same problem, made in the same year as the other vehicles were made but mine not covered because the vehicle is labeled as a 2019 design. Also, the faulty part is also made of plastic!!
uconnect display has air bubbles forming on top left and top right corners. Both bubbles run down the side of the display. We own two of the same Grand Cherokees and both exhibit the same failure.
JEEP grand Cherokee-??s are know for their faulty transmissions, I just bought a 2019 jeep grand Cherokee from the dealer and it has a faulty transmission. I-??ve research and found out that other owners have same issues. This issues cause the car to jerk forward going from 2nd to 1st gear. This can be an issue because the jerk is strong and can cause an accident when stopping. Please help us out with this issue as it is a safety concern. Thank you!
The touchscreen in the car which has controls for the radio, navigation, phone and other features in delaminating and causing the screen to change buttons, features while driving. The screen gets stuck or shuts off while driving causing a safety issue while driving.

The radio screen starting developing bubbles on each side. After speaking to several dealers by phone they are telling me this is very common with this yr vehicle that the screen is delaminating and Jeep will not cover this. For my concern how and who do I contact" Beings this system controls the heated seats is this eventually at some point going to stop working" Each time I turn on these seats I am concerned the heat will not shut off and if traveling a distance I do not want to get burnt. Could you please help/assist as I do have a friend that was burnt from a heated car seat. Thank you.
The screen on my information center is delaminating. Took the vehicle to the dealership for extended warranty service and was told this was not covered under warranty. When this is a known issue not sure why the manufacture is not covering this claim.
I received a letter in the mail that my Jeep had a recall for some type of sensor that affects the brakes and brake lights. I-??ve read that a malfunction in this sensor can cause my brake to not work and can cause me to crash into someone or something. The fact that this issue hasn-??t been resolved yet is beyond me. This recall came out in 2022. It had been 2 years. What-??s going happen when a mother is driving her family around in her Jeep that also has this recall on it, she switched the brake on but it doesn-??t brake and she and her family crash into someone. Life-??s are at risk here. I am planning to start a family within the next year and I will be getting rid of this car because I will not trust my family in it.
My display screen is glitchy. Sometimes it does not show The back up camera. Other times even while driving down the road it shows my back up camera when I-??m traveling forward.
The touch screen dash display has become delaminated and sometimes does not turn on when the vehicle is shifted in reverse. Thus, it's difficult to see if a child or pedestrian is behind the vehicle when placed in reverse on the dash screen. This poses a serious Safety issue and I have read on several forms that this occurs just after 3-4 years of use and is a common problem.
Uconnect screen with radio/nav/driver controls is delaminating, causing screens to change and overriding all driver selections. Safety issue. Multiple complaints on Jeep forum and class action lawsuit in 2022 which has been closed due to overwhelming number of complaints. It-??s a well known issue with FCA but they refuse to issue recall. Backup camera freezing and hand free difficult to use. Distracting and unsafe. FCA NEEDS TO ISSUE RECALL!
The u connect screen laminating is bubbling, causing blurry screen and effects all vehicle's controls while driving. Read about this being a common problem with these screens but not yet warranted by Jeep. Seems to be getting worse and can cause major distractions while driving, especially while using GPS. Vehicle hasn't been inspected as of yet. Just mainly inquiring about any others having same issues being reported.
The radio in the car, which controls the whole car, started dialing people out of the blue, over and over again. I finally had to pull over and disconnect my phone from the system. This could have called an accident as the repeated dialing caused me to take my eyes and concentration off of the road. No doubt I was a distracted driver at this time - due to what they call "system bubble". Jeep/Stellantis knows of the problem but they refuse to correct this problem that causes drivers to become distracted. They need to fix the problem ASAP before someone gets killed on count of this. Further more, I now have to take my eyes from the road to my phone because I can't use the system to use the handsfree system. This is a violation of the State of Alabama law. We can no longer have our phones in our hands, while driving a car.
While driving, my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo began smelling like burnt plastic, then a red warning triangle came on in the speedometer saying, -??stop safely vehicle shut off soon-??. At the same time, the engine warning light, battery warning light, and skid warning lights came on. I pulled over and when the car was examined the red plastic housing around the terminal that can be used to jumpstart the battery had melted. The vehicle is being towed to the dealer for a repair.
Radio/screen delimitation. Known issue by Jeep for years now; obvious safety issue, when the screen starts doing phantom touches it is very distracting to the driver. Also, as the glue melts, it leaks onto the wiring of all the components under the screen including the AC, all the parking sensor and traction control off controls. Phantom phone calls/cannot turn on/off heat. Radio does not just power -?? radio-??. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!
The driver's side door lock will no longer operate using the key fob, lock/unlock button inside, or automatically lock when driving. It will only operate to unlock when the handle is pulled. It is available for inspection. It is a safety hazard due to not having a locked door when parked or when driving. The problem has been confirmed by CLJ in Justice. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. There are no warning lamps or messages.
Experiencing transmission problems. Vehicle stuck in third gear - safety mainly at highways - can coase crash. and/or make harsh jerks at reverse gear - very dangerous. Confirmed by local Central Jeep Garage. Warning lamps first appear at June 2022, problem appeared at winter 2022 (Jan-Apr. 2022).
Yesterday, March 18, 2023, the sunroof in our 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee exploded while we were driving on the highway. The weather was sunny and mild (52 degrees.) We were driving in an open area (no trees) and we were not close behind a truck or other vehicle. The explosion was extremely loud and terrifying. We initially thought we'd been shot at. The driver (my husband), myself (in the passenger seat) and our dog (in the back seat) were showered with broken glass. The remainder of the glass blew out towards the car traveling behind us. We are fortunate that my husband was able to keep calm and get us safely off of the highway without further incident. As this occurred around 5pm on a Saturday, we will report this issue to our insurance and local Jeep dealership on Monday, March 20. There were no warnings or indication of an issue with the sunroof prior to this incident.
