Vehicle shut-off while in route, in traffic, check engine light then came on. The second time this occurred, check engine light came on and immediately vehicle proceeded decelerate from 55 mph to 25 mph while I was on a highway. The vehicle would not shift to a higher gear and remained in the lower gear at 30 mph on a 55 mph highway, causing me to move off to the side, turn off the vehicle and then restart the vehicle. Check engine light not shown, vehicle operated, except shifted hard. On several occasions I have shared with the dealer at service appointments that I experienced transmission sensor issues causing delayed shifting, not able to shift into reverse or drive from park, vehicles stalled, and rough gear changes, unusual noises coming from the transmission. The engine check light would come on, then disappear shortly after, but not always. Service appointments by a Jeep dealership resulted in them updating software, which I shared did nothing to resolve the problem, so I brought the vehicle back and asked they check the transmission fluid level and cleanliness of the fluid, and whatever else needed to be checked. I was told the transmission was completely sealed and it was fine by the dealership. It was not fine, and the vehicle stalled again, and again it while on the freeway, almost getting into and accident, the transmission locked up and would not move past 30 mph. A warning light did not appear. I brought it back to the Jeep dealership for repairs because it is not safe to drive. I am being told that the transmission is defective by the service department. I asked if they drove it and they said yes. This has been a problem I have been trying to get resolved for the last four months of 2024. I do have service records, in my glove box, and a video of the transmission flashing in reverse. Vehicle is at the dealership for assessment and repair.

Cylinder head gasket(s) has a leak. It limited my ability to speed up and keep up with traffic in a timely manner, requiring me to put on hazards forcing others to navigate around me causing a backlog of traffic and other potential hazards. I have had inspected by two different auto repair shops and both came to the same conclusion, they have also told me that they have seen this issue on the same make and model of my car and other surrounding years of the same make and model quite a bit. check engine light came on, and there was a sensor warning on the dash the day of the problem cropping up. Per the repair shops either this issue has been silently present in my car for some time or the leak in it is very aggressive due to the remaining volume of oil in my engine.

Backing out of garage to driveway just a few feet. Car suddenly accelerated on its own to a very high speed in Reverse. Knocked down a tree and busted through the neighbor's garage wall. Attempted to pump brakes but it did not help one bit. My safety was at risk and luckily I was not hurt. Luckily there was no one in the alley or at my neighbor's driveway or garage. People could have been killed based on how fast the car suddenly accelerated. No warning lights were on prior to the incident. Nothing to indicate there was a problem with the car. When the car stopped as a result of hitting the garage wall, it was still in reverse. There is $20k damage to my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The collision company said they will make sure its safe to drive but I'm not sure if it should be inspected elsewhere. I will contact a dealer to inspect after collision company releases the car. How am I to drive this car again not knowing if this could happen again and potentially result in death of someone? The car is certainly available for inspection.

I bought this car in Jan. 2018 brand new. For the first year or so I had no problems. As of July 2020 it has stalled on me for 5 times. It only happens while on the highway (60-70mph). The lights on the dashboard start blinking and it says "shift to P to start". it decelerates very quickly luckily I've been able to merge to the emergency lane on the highway but this last time (1/17/21) it was very scary as cars were swerving in order to avoid hitting me. I'm unable to accelerate so there's cars going 60-80mph flying past me. Once I get to the emergency lane and down to 5-7mph the car completely stops (hard stop). I've taken it in to the dealer every time and every time they can't "duplicate" my complaint, there for nothing can be done.can someone please fix this as I still have 1 year left on this car! if not- im trading it in & no longer buying Jeep. I have the dealer invoice for all visits if anyone needs them.

I was driving home and the Jeep switched to neutral on its own and flashed "shift to park" on the screen. I had to roll to the side of the road, put it in park and turn it off. I am scared to drive it. I have kids. If this happens on the highway we will be hurt.

Vehicle lost power on highway @ 65 - 70 mph. Operator was using cruise control to increase and decrease speed in heavy traffic. Operator pressed the cruise off button and the vehicle lost power to idle and would not accelerate. Operator pulled over and switched the vehicle on and off several times over about 5 minutes before vehicle wold operate normally again.

The gas pedal became stuck when I was driving around local streets. I was stopping my truck because I was coming up to an intersection. When I lifted my foot from the gas pedal it did not come up. Almost as if the cruise control was engaged. It was scary and I went a little too far into the intersection with my foot on the brake.
