The contact owns 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle could erroneously be started and go into gear without the brake pedal being depressed. Additionally, while at a stop light, the engine revved to 2500 RPM's and the brake pedal had to be pressed to prevent the vehicle from experiencing unintended acceleration. The same failure also occurred while his wife was driving approximately 55 MPH. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and was serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V426000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who later replaced the accelerator pedal; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 50,000.
