A 31500 mile while driving, we started hearing a knocking sound coming rom the engine. We stopped and took a look but saw nothing. We drove back home and parked for a few hours then decided to take the vehicle out again. Upon starting the engine we heard the knocking again but this time it sounded as if something was hitting metal so we turned off the engine and popped the hood and there it was, the harmonic balancer was already dislodged and stuck between the fan blade. No even the Jeep dealer could explain to us how a relatively new vehicle could develop such a serious issue. THANKFULLY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WE HAVE COVERED THE REPLCEMENT.
