Brakes failed when attempting to slow down, ABS kicked in on dry blacktop with no lights on dash before locking up and throwing the vehicle off of the road. Caused me to wreck into a tree head on at 50 mph. Seatbelt did not lock up and airbags did not deploy. Vehicle was totaled with heavy front end damage including a bent and snapped frame. Prior to incident had issues with low beam headlights not working/going out prematurely. Was told by Herrenstein Jeep in Chillicothe this was not an electrical issue. Low beam headlights failed again 2 weeks prior to incident.

Passenger outer seat belt/retractor failed to retract. The belt has to be manually ratcheted back. Licensed repair shop removed & inspected mechanism for obstruction. Found no cause for failure, out of vehicle retracts properly. In a sudden stop the front passenger is not protected as the belt does not lock or retract without manual procedure. No warning lamps or codes. Contacted local dealership Service department for possible recall or customer satisfaction bulletin & was told that nothing was available for vehicle. Replacement part is on national backorder with no ETA according to local dealership Parts department. Hundreds of units are on backorder leading me to conclude that the manufacturer is aware of a safety issue but has not provided a resolution to consumers

Behind the driver's side, the seatbelts can not be used. They are too difficult and deep into the seat to reach. I have not taken it to a dealership or anything but I had a trip planned with my three grandkids and had to manipulate the car seat behind the driver side with the middle seat belt to secure seat as much as possible to keep my grandson as safe as possible. This was my first time using the seat belts on this side. Wasn't aware of the imminent danger. How do I get this fixed?

The rear right seat belt became unusable in August 2021. I bought the car in October 2017 and it only has 20,000 miles. The seat belt was fully retracted and stuck, which caused a major safety issue for my passengers, including my children. The dealership confirmed it the seat belt retractor was broken and needed to be replaced. The repair costed me $558, which was not covered or guaranteed by Jeep. I would have thought that a critical safety part like a seat belt retractor that breaks at 20,000 miles, the company will cover it and recall other vehicles to check same and ensure that retractor systems are properly working. No crash or incident was involved, just normal use of the car.
