The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while at the gas station and refueling the vehicle, the contact became aware that the pump nozzle was stopping as if the tank was full. The contact stated that fuel system warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed as a failure with the fuel tank. The contact was informed that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.
I have only owned the vehicle for 5 months. When filling the gas tank on several different occasions at several different pumps, the pump stops like the tank is full even though I just started pumping. Also randomly the backup camera does not display and then the entire infotainment system shuts down and restarts while going down the road or while in reverse
