Crankshaft positioning sensor I-??m sure my jeep falls into the recall I purchased it in march 24 and as soon as I drove off the lot with it the light came on got home scanned to find the cause and it-??s the crankshaft sensor
Been in the shop & dealer multiple times! Check engine light on for misfire in cylinder one; oil pressure sensor code. Oil case housing was replaced due to cracking! And oil pressure sensor replaced also. But still isn-??t fixed and now leaks oil. Head gasket problems. Shop informed me I-??ll need to replace loosing coolant going into my head gasket. Around 140k miles but problems occurred before! Jeep please explain why this is happening! A lot of money to fix it and problem after problem
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request" The engine block and head are warped. Radio station keeps jumping to random station when I'm not even touching it. Auto On/Off light goes on intermittently. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This could be a failure and engine lock up had I not taken it in when first troubles came about. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes and I'm told the one dealership has 3 THREE other vehicles the same make and model with the same issue! I've also read on forums that many other people have this affect theirs as well. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear" Check engine light went on a few times, diagnosis showed multiple misfires in the cylinder. White smoke from the exhaust and vehicle shook and acted like it was going to stall upon starting.
Intermittent extended crank on cold starts and developed a misfire in cylinder 3 and the developed a misfire and coolant leak in cylinder 1. The dealer told me it needs a new engine due to internal engine failure. Codes p0303 and p0300. Engine only has 62,000 on it.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle had failed to start. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was later able to be restarted and taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a warped head gasket and an overheated radiator. The dealer replaced the left and right cylinder heads, head gasket, timing cover gasket, valve cover gasket, cam sensor gasket, upper and lower intake gaskets, exhaust gasket, EGR, spark plugs, performed an oil change, and refilled the coolant. The contact stated that her husband, who owns another 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, had experienced the same failure, and had the vehicle repaired at the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,599.

At 47,000k miles with all maintenance being done at correct intervals. From one day to the next, check engine light came on with error code p0303; Code P0303 stands for -??Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected-?? which indicates that there have been numerous misfires in engine cylinder 3. After taking it to the Jeep dealership they told me its a cracked cylinder head. This was a fairly common issue with earlier year WK2 models, but continues to be a under-reported issue in later years.
Multiple leaks found under the car and was brought in for emergency repair. One leak was the driveshaft, one was engine coolant and the other was the front steering column.
The alternator is pulling from the battery draining it and at 9.5 volts the car will go into safety mode where it doesn-??t turn off but it won-??t drive neither which actually happened to me on Saturday in the middle of the street luckily no car hit mines and the police helped me move it out the road. I complained to CArMax Kearny mesa the previous Friday and instead of them putting me in a loaner car and towing the vehicle they scheduled me for an appointment Monday (today) at 9:30am and never held up their end and I-??ve been carless ever since and they had my car for 6 months fixing this same problem I-??m having today.
I have a 2018 Jeep grand cherokee and one day it just didn't start. I had it towed to the jeep dealership and was told it was the starter. Once the job was done they service rwp said they will run a complete diagnostics on the jeep and get back to me. I got a call a few a days later saying the jeep had a blown head gasket, a leaking water pump and the coolant was leaking as well. They said the engine was a complete loss and to replace it and labor cost would be 14k. This jeep only has 40k miles on it and those are really soft miles, my wife literally works 5 minutes from our home and it's here daily driver. How is this possible, it's just plain ridiculous. Reaching out to jeep and got no help whatsoever. NEVER BUY A JEEP!
The head gasket gets blown with 50,000 miles for the 2018 grand jeep Cherokee high altitude. Went to jeep dealership in Downey and they said they knew it would be the head gasket they had other jeeps in the shop with that same problem, but wanted to charge 5000 just to confirm. So then we went to a mechanic in Los Angeles and they had 5 other 2018 jeeps in the shop with the same problem. The 2018 jeep grand Cherokee 3.6L is having so many problems with the head gasket at such low miles this needs to be recalled! How is it a good supposedly reliable car is breaking down so early. This is a SAFETY ISSUE IT can cause a fire !!!!
I am writing to report a concerning issue related to the water pump in my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Recently, I discovered a significant coolant leak originating from the water pump, which has raised concerns about the safety and reliability of my vehicle. I would like to bring this matter to your attention for investigation and potential action. While this issue may be isolated to my vehicle, I believe it's crucial to ensure the safety and reliability of all 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee models. I have taken my vehicle to an auto repair shop for repairs, and they confirmed the water pump leak. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated, and I hope that by reporting this issue, we can contribute to the overall safety and quality of vehicles on the road. Thank you for your commitment to ensuring the safety of drivers and passengers.
This vehicle will not move (intermitant problem) at times when the vehicle is placed in drive or reverse. The gear shift console and dash will flash and the vehicle is rendred useless. I have to turn off and restart the vehicle to resolve the problem. Temporary fix. It keeps happening. This vehicle has been in the shop 3 times (dealing with this issue for over a year). Noone knows what the problem is. No codes are thrown. Jeep has been contacted. Several forums I have looked at online state this problem with no resolution. The problem is someone is going to be killed or seriously injured. When it leaves me stranded in an intersection, which it did, I have a major problem. A resolution has to be found. Its not allowing me to upload video. I do have video of this happening which has been shown to the dealership and the adjuster of my extended warrenty company.
The stop/start feature on my Jeep has just stopped working. The battery has been checked and rechecked and replaced. It doesn't work. The biggest problem now is the 8.4 touchscreen display that malfunctions. The GPS is connected to this along with the radio and backup camera. Other features include the phone, climate control, and other functions. The phone will randomly select contacts I am not trying to call, and the GPS will randomly set locations I am not trying to go. The screen will jump from one application to another which is extremely distracting while driving. I've tried turning the screen off completely but this isn't helpful if I'm actually using my navigation. It's dangerous.
Starting around February 23 after about 10 minutes into driving. The hot temperature lamp would show up. I pull over an it was always empty of coolant I had done that few times within one week. I also didn-??t use air conditioning for a few weeks left. An it was ok for few weeks. Then I noticed smoke coming out back pipes. Send to first reipair shop. They found Coolant in a combustion chamber They told me I should send to Jeep shop.
I attempted SEVERAL times to have the Stellantis/Chrysler/Jeep 'Z46 - High-Pressure Fuel Pump Failure' recall repair performed on my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Platinum 4X4 EcoDiesel. The 'Z46' recall was issued in JUN 2022. Yet over ONE YEAR LATER each time I inquire about performing this recall repair the Jeep dealer advises that "there are no parts available to perform the recall repair". I submitted a complaint to Stellantis/Chrysler/Jeep Customer Assistance and asked that the problem be escalated. I received no response or further follow up to that complaint submission. I need to sell the vehicle in the next 30 days but cannot sell the vehicle due to the open Z46 recall. I am suffering economic injury as a result of the Jeep dealer's inability to perform the Stellantis/Chrysler/Jeep 'Z46' recall repair.
Jeep issued a recall for the high pressure fuel pump on our 2018 Grand Cherokee about a year ago and a redesigned fuel pump by Bosch is still not available. I am unable to travel out of state for fear that the fuel pump will fail possibly causing a crash or leaving me stranded at my own expense. Why have a recall if the manufacturer can just ignore it and start discontinuing the product which Jeep has started to do at the beginning of 2023. Repeated attempts to get service from Jeep for the recall have resulted in the message no parts available. What is NHTSA doing about this recall?
2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 55,575 miles was parked in a parking garage all day in Brooklyn NY and when the vehicle was move to the front of the garage by parking attendants the engine started smoking and caught fire. There were no leaks, dashboard symbols or open recalls to cause the fire; additionally the car was linked to a iPhone App CarRx that can scan for any issue and no issue noted. This engine fire not only put all of the other vehicles in the park garage at risk of catching fire but the parking garage sits under a luxury apartment building putting the working and residents at risk. Additionally I commute between Brooklyn and NJ 3x a week and cant imagine what would have happened if I was driving the vehicle over the Brooklyn Bridge, on the Brooklyn Queens Express or in the Holland Tunnel during high commuter rush hour traffic. Car was checked out by a Jeep Dealership who confirm fire was not caused by any leaks or electrical issue but did mentioned it seems to have started around the engine air cleaner. The current status of the issue has been an open investigation with Jeep Corporate for going on the 3rd week with no communication or updates on status. The entire issue and fire from pulling into the garage to the when the car was moved to it smoking and catching fire is all documented on security video.
There is an electrical failure that causes the blinkers to stop working, shortly after noticing this issue the vehicle will fail to start after travelling to my destination. This has happened more than twice and there are no recalls shown for the "Limited" version of this vehicle. The standard edition seems to have confirmed recalls for the same issues that the Limited version is experiencing. A mechanic has described an electrical short circuit. I encourage looking into the different models of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee in which you'll definitely find the same safety issues described online by many others. These repairs need to be addressed and repaired by the manufacturer. Thank you!
