CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee shows an early trend of transmission complaints. Most of the complaints are for rough shifting — things like jerking & hesitation when shifting gears.
The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee also has the same transmission issues.
Bought my Jeep Grand Cherokee in July 2018. I first noticed it was idling rough but didn't think anything of it until a friend called it out. Two days later my check engine light came on. I took it to a mechanic who kept it for a day and said the diagnostic code was PS003 (or something like that). Said he'd seen this before and that Chrysler knows about the issue - it's been reported to them on my engine size (V6). My spark plugs were replaced, just in case, but my mechanic said it basically needs the 2nd cylinder rebuilt.
The cylinder misfires which causes the rough idling and check engine light to come on. Apparently Chrysler continues to create these engine models/types knowing about the issue. He mentioned the "wait list" to get a new cylinder from the dealership and have it switched out is about a year because Chrysler doesn't make whatever is needed except for once a month. (I don't remember what he called it). Needless to say, I didn't get it fixed and am getting a new car.
