Mysterious engine start. Car was parked in the garage for the night. Went into the garage at bedtime and found the car running with lights on. Could not stop the engine with the stop button with fob in my pocket. Opened the garage door to ventilate the exhaust fumes. Went to pull a cable off the battery. Couldn't find it! turns out it is under the passenger seat. Couldn't access it. After multiple tries stopped the engine. Obviously a U connect defect. Parked it outside to prevent getting gassed. Crap technology...updated 12/11/17 the consumer stated the vehicle was repaired.
The gear shifter is malfunctioning. The lights on it are not lighting up to show what gear I am in and the dash shows "service shifter" sometimes the dash will state N but I will be reversing. I told the dealership about this when I took it in for the current recall on the shifter. This issue is something different. They told me they fixed the problem. The same day it was doing it again.
With little warning, and out of cell reception, Jeep suddenly began flashing intermittently on navigation screen warning that car was not charging and another warning about parking brake malfunction as I was driving approximately 55 mph in a mountainous California area.. I drove it 30 miles to try to get within cell phone range before it simply quit. Thank goodness I had just renewed my uconnect contract because I still was not within cell phone range when car died. A tow truck was called and car towed to nearest Jeep facility that could repair it. Result of problem was bad alternator. This is ridiculous on a car that is less than 2.5 years of age and driven less than 3,6000 miles.I had absolutely no warning of problem until I was traveling 150 miles away from home in a mountainous and sparsely traveled road. Jeep was under warranty but I am uneasy now about potential other problems occurring.
The interior light will stay off and will not come back on as well as the dash board lights will go out and not come back on. This will occur when I am driving both day and night. I have take. It to the dealer multiple times and they claim they don't see the issue.

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee sagety recal # S55/NHTSA 16V-529 transaxle wire harness. I received a safety recall notice with instructions to call my local dealership to arrange service. I called the dealership and was told by the service department that the necessary parts required to do the repair was not made available to any dealership yet. I was told by the service department to wait another month or two for the second recall notice to arrive by mail to call and make the appointment. I asked if, in the meantime, I was to hope and pray that an accident is not caused by this recall item in the interim, and the service department replied, "yes." I then call the fca recall assistance center at fca and was told the same thing. Unacceptable practices given the fact that the recall notice clearly states that, "...the system defaults the transaxle to neutral and the customer experiences a loss of motive power.....the loss of motive power could cause a crash without warning."
Received a recall for the transmission on my Grand Cherokee took it to the dealer for recall but work was not done called dealer and Jeep chysler to complain but all I get is a run around I will not bring it back to herb chambers in danvers MA they don't care if the car is unsafe to drive they got you to buy this garbage they got there money was told to take it some where else they would no take a look at the car and I cant bring it back anywhere else till a regional mgt approves it. The vehicle is unsafe to drive
We have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and recently had the software patch installed that was supposed to prevent the car from moving when the driver's door is open. This was the condition that killed the actor recently. Since the patch was installed there is an intermittent problem. When one gets in the vehicle and you attempt to open the hatchback either from the driver's seat or from the tailgate it won't open. In addition once you start the vehicle the center console screen is completely black, and the front side windows won't work (the rear seat ones do) nor will the buttons on the door work that are supposed to reposition the drivers seat for different drivers. You have to place the car in gear and move it before all these features start working. The other problem is the whole purpose of the software patch was prevent the vehicle from moving if the driver's door is open and it is in gear. They got that half right. The car won't move forward with the door open, but it goes in reverse just fine. Just exactly the situation that killed the actor. We took the car into the dealership twice to correct the problem with the patch. They reinstalled the software patch but nothing is changed and reflashed the body control module, but the problem remains. The problem is intermittent, occurring several times a week, but has not reproduced itself in the dealership. As an engineer it is obvious to me that the problem is related to the software patch that Chrysler rushed to distribute after the negative publicity associated with actor who was killed. I have reported the problem to Chrysler in addition to the dealership and Chrysler insists the problem is unique. I don't believe it. I believe the patch was rushed to installation and doors that won't open and windows that won't go up or down are going to end up killing somebody.

After two months from purchase the ventilated seats stop working. I have taken to the Jeep dealer a total of four times now for repair and they have not fixed problem. Dealer admits they cannot fix and said they opened a "star" case with the Jeep engineers. This problem is with vehicle in motion and not in motion.
I've contacted my dealer at ray brandt Chrysler Dodge Jeep located at 1660 westbank expy, harvey, la 70058 in reference to the important safety recall of the "auto park" feature. I explained to them that my vehicle may roll away, striking and injuring me, my wife, or baby even though the vehicle indicates it is in park. The employee advised that there is nothing that he can do. I then stated, "so, I'm am just suppose to hope that my vehicle does not slip out of gear?" I felt that this was a bit ridiculous and extremely unprofessional. I am unpleased with the way I was treated and the outcome of my service request. This needs to get rectified immediately or I will have to take further action. Thank you for your assistance in advance.

Vehicle was stationary, in park with engine idling. Standing outside of vehicle, I opened door to reach in to turn ignition off. As soon as I hit ignition, car accelerated forward dragging me about 10 yards. I was not in vehicle and held on to steering wheel and open door to keep from getting run over. It collided with vehicle parked in front of me, luckily in an empty parking lot and no one was injured. There is surveillance camera on site and this incident was captured on video. Witnesses were present and co-workers viewing it were frightened by it...car seemed to have a mind of its own.
