My 2015 Grand Cherokee has a Service Shifter warning that has come on and causes the transmission to jump while driving. I've taken this problem to the dealership and was initially charged for a new shifter and wiring harness. Two weeks later the problem returned. I took the car back again and was told the system wasn't reset. Two weeks later problem returned. Took it back to dealership and was charged to reset two more codes. Two weeks later the problem returned. Took it back to the dealership and was told power steering pump had leak and was traveling to the area where the sensor was causing it to go off. Paid for more repairs and now 4 days later the service shifter light is back on and more frequently than before. This issue nor should any issue cause someone to continuously miss work to deal with a problem that has caused at least one fatality that's well known about. Nor should it cause an expense every time the vehicle is brought in. This is a problem that could cause serious harm if not addressed and if the problem cannot be addressed then at the very least someone should be willing to say so instead of grasping at straws trying to fix an unfixable problem.

Thank god she was able to maintain her composure and pull over to a parking lot and get out. What if she had jerked the wheel (as it startled her) and caused a crash" What if she was on the highway?? What if the vehicle started on fire?" The vehicle is currently at the dealership and being inspected. There were no warning lamps or other symptoms.

Driving my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, in Oct 2021 and this weekend, slipped into neutral while driving on the highway at 50+ mph and wouldnt shift back into drive. displaying the message 'VEHICLE SPEED IS TOO HIGH TO SHIFT' while at full stop Stop sign Both times trying to restart it, the engine would rev violently and shut off, only to restart after a few minutes and drive as normal. Both times in high moving traffic, narrowly avoiding traffic. The 2nd time I was on the NY Triboro bridge and used road flares to alert traffic Called the dealer and they claimed to have never heard of this before. Couldnt find any issues or replicate the issue. attached are several issues of other drivers having the same issue and still @Jeepc laims no knowledge. Does someone have to die to fix this issue

Once the shifter was moved into "Drive", the transmission would automatically swith it to "Park" that would not allow any movement! It happened on the same day to all three of us. On April 23rd at 9:28pm I was driving my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015 on a highway at approximately 45mph when suddenly the transmission slipped to neutral without any human interference. I tried shifting it back to drive but the transmission did not respond. The Jeep lost momentum very quickly and came to a complete stop in the highway. As soon as it went to a complete stop it locked itself in parking position and l lost all ability to put it back to drive. I turned my blinkers and emergency lights on, but one minute later I got rear-ended by a car traveling at 50mph. My Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015 got totaled and I was taken to the hospital in stable condition. I was in a bad collision due to the Jeep slipping into neutral and locking itself in parking. I lost ALL ability to control my Jeep. The jeep got towed to a safe location. Two weeks later, we needed to move the car to another area for the insurance inspection. The car turned on and moved, yet again when the car gained velocity, the gear slipped to neutral and again came to a complete stop it, locking the transmission in the parking position. I always took my car for regular maintenance and it was a very well kept Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015.

Forward facing camera behind rearview mirror developed an internal fault, which triggered vehicle's communication bus to not function at all. Vehicle would not start and could not be jumpstarted. No interior lights or accessories functioned. Vehicle had to be towed and after diagnoses, the dealer disabled the forward facing camera to make my vehicle operable again, but without functionality of auto high beams and forward collision warning and forward collision active braking features. The forward facing camera impacts auto high beams, forward collision warning, and forward collision active braking functions, at minimum. Have not been able to obtain a replacement part due to either backorder or the dealer not sufficiently searching supply chain despite repeated inquiries.

The vehicle takes a long time to turn over to push to start. So you have to redo it and try it again. Along with us, the touchscreen takes a long time for for it to turn on. Which obviously that controls your ac or heat. I've gotten a new battery twice in the past four months. I'm scared I'm going to go somewhere one day and get stranded. I've taken my car to the dealership where I have a warranty on my car and they refuse to fix anything else except put a battery in it every time. I have a full coverage warranty on my Jeep but I cannot get them to fix anything and this is the fourth time I've been to the dealership and they won't fix anything else.

Service shifter light came on while driving, had it towed to the dealership, 5 days later they said nothing is wrong with it so I took it home. A week later, service shifter light came back on while I was driving on a side street, all the lights on the dash came on, unable to control anything, lost steering, then vehicle shut off in the middle of the road. Tried to turn the vehicle back on to no luck, sat waiting, then after 15 mins the accessory engine came on, lights flashing, windshield wipers going and the message "do not park until safe at your destination." Took the Jeep straight to the dealership, dealer plugs it is 70+ miscommunication errors pull up. Dealer calls me 3 days later to come get my Jeep and says nothing is wrong with it and they cannot diagnose it unless they see it in the act. I refuse to go pick it up as there is something wrong and I am not driving it with my 9month old.

I continue to have service shifter and check engine issues with my vehicle, which have been ongoing for the last three years. This has occurred while stationary, in motion both on city/neighborhood streets or on the highway. It's happened while turning and in park. When the check engine and service shifter lights come one, in many cases the car goes into limp mode and I lose the ability to accelerate, which causes a severe safety risk if it occurs while turning or going down the highway. Many times my dashboard will go completely black for seconds and my wind shield wipers will turn on. My car has been in the dealership for service related to this issue for 180 days over the past three years and they are unable to resolve the issue. They have replaced the steering control module, the tcm, the telemax communication module, the transmission, and the shifter, but the issue always comes back. Over the last six months the issues have gotten worse and the vehicle is getting more unsafe to drive. Based on my research there are a significant amount of these issues and fca should take action.
