So I have the 2014 with the electronic shifter, all of the recalls have been done so the vehicle cannot be left without it being in park while off. I tried shutting the car off in Drive and it did automatically shift to Park. So there was no question of if it was in Park or not. My wife parked at the top of our steep driveway. I watched her get out and the car stayed there fine on the incline. We went inside and came back out while we were talking in the garage about 2 mins after turning off the car and parking it IN PARK we both watched in amazement as it rolled down our driveway. It was sitting at the top off for about 2-3 minutes before it moved. We were lucky it didn't hit anyone or anything, it seemed to be not completely in free fall since it stopped at the bottom.
FCA was contacted and so was the dealer, they told us since it didn't have any codes they would have to charge us 500$ to pull the transmission to look. Also they said that they most likely wouldn't find anything wrong so it would be our expense, even though it should be covered under warranty.
