The cv boot on both front wheels has come off, spreading axle grease all over the brakes and other parts of the axle. The dealer service dept noted that Jeep is having issues with these. He is ordering parts.

Brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee (less than 1800 miles). Discovered oil and grease in the inside of the front rims. Took vehicle to dealership and was told that the cv joints on both of the front axles had failed. Advised by dealership that it would not be too safe to drive because of possible freeze/seizure of the axles. Turned vehicle in for warranty repair. Found online (including this site) that this is common on new vehicles from 2014 production dates. Vehicle is now scheduled to get replacement parts approximately on 5/30, but no guarantees. Notified Jeep (Chrysler llc) of the issue and opened an internal complaint case.

I noticed grease coating inside of front wheel while washing car. Upon inspection, the cv boot appeared ajar and the assembly was exposed. Only 170 miles on the vehicle before failure of component. With a little research on Jeep garage forum, many consumers are complaining, specifically with build dates around March 2014, which this car is presumed built around. Unknown if second failure of passenger side cv boot is immanent.. car is now in the dealer lot awaiting assembly component.

Failure in drivers side cv joint. Grease splattered everywhere. Upon investigation, this is a common issue that Jeep will not address proactively. I asked service to replace both halves as one side failure is a sure sign that they both will go. They refused insisting again that the other one was fine. That's what they told me before I took delivery - they were both fine. Now, I'll have to go through this process twice - on a truck that is 9 days old.

Two days after purchasing my brand new Jeep, I noticed a grease all over the inside of the front passenger side wheel. The other three wheels were normal. Upon closer inspection, I could see that the cv boot had come apart and grease was leaking out of it and onto the wheel, axle, shocks and every other component surrounding the leak. I am specifically concerned that the grease could get on the brake discs, causing for difficulty stopping the vehicle. I took it to the nearest dealer where it was confirmed that the part was defective and I would need a new axle. The part unfortunately is backordered with no estimation as to when it will be available because this problem is a common one and there are new Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge durango owners all over the country who need this very same part for the same issue. There are likely thousands of people driving these vehicles with no idea that their front axles are malfunctioning and it is only a matter of time before it causes an accident that could leave someone seriously injured.

The way the steering wheel on the new Jeep is designed, when you go to make a turn, items on your sleeves (zippers, buttons, or bracelets) can get wedged in between the pad that covers the horn area of the steering wheel and the wheel it self. Once this happens, the object gets lodged into place and you cannot remove it, and you also cannot properly steer the vehicle. The only recourse is to come to a complete stop and work the item loose. Luckily this has not happened while we were traveling at high speeds or it would have surely caused an accident. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. I have photos to submit if it would demonstrate the issue more clearly.

I purchased a new 2014 Grand Cherokee limited, and have had vibration issues since I purchased. I have taken it back to the dealer 5 times, and now have a case open with Chrysler to fix the issue. The steering wheel and seats shake at speeds from 70-80.

For the second time in 2 weeks the power steering assist steering failed while driving the vehicle. The instrument cluster gives a "power steering warning" and all hydraulic assistance fails. Within a few minutes of this happening, the engine also gets hot. I live N the Texas hill country. This failure results a large increase in steering effort on the local hilly and curved roads and the ability to take evasive maneuvers if some of the many local wild animals cross the road in front of me. It also affects the ability to maneuver in traffic until the vehicle is brought to a stop. The problem is intermittent and the dealer has not been able to diagnose the problem due to it's intermittent nature. So far, this vehicle has had air suspension failures, power steering failures, and " due not shift transmission" failures and has become a safety issue for me and other drivers around me. I use this vehicle for work related travel throughout multiple states so it gets driven often.

The vehicle has been giving me trouble with lots of necessities like air conditioning shutting off and fronts light turn off on their own. On Friday, September 6th 2013, I was driving to the dealership to get things fixed but while I was on my way there driving, the steering wheel just locked and the vehicle wont respond and it was running, it switched to neutro then park on its own and steering wheel locked and brakes are heavy! miraculously and thanks god, I was not injured and the vehicle not damaged! I was in big shock and stress! I have never experienced something like that, it nearly could have been killed me or hit something or somebody or causing damage! I went to the dealership and spoke to one of the service center manager and explained what happened, they tested the vehicle and it the manager told me, this vehicle has lots of issues need to be fixed! I told them, this vehicle nearly got me killed or injured or some damage could have been happened! they gave me a cheap rental car and refer me to talk directly to the company produced the vehicle! I called on Friday and they gave me a case number and told me your case will be assigned to a manager whom will contact you! I have trying since then to get a hold of anybody to help! but seems nobody seems to be taking this seriously! and I would just wonder, what if you are in the vehicle with kids or somebody of your family members or friends! would you guys take it seriously if something bad could have been happened to me or others!" I am really scared to drive this vehicle ! its a very serious matter, I just think about it and say: What if something bad happen to me or a damage has been done to others!" I am very stressed and depressed about it, and most importantly scared to drive this vehicle or trusting that car dealership! I can't drive this vehicle after this experience and I need help!

When I drove the car at around 60 mph the steering wheel shakes side to side aggressively. The dealership changed two drive shafts and checked the balance of the tires. After all that it still shakes the dealership said it just how the Jeep rides no car or truck I've drove ever did that. I think its a safety defect in the steering at high speeds and all I drive is expressway driving. A new vehicle shouldn't drive like this.
