Started with flickering of internal lights in September 2013. Went in for oil change and I asked to have battery checked. Battery was at full charge, the dealer said it's normal. Within the next few months, exterior headlights began flickering, going off and on with the internal lights. Back in for service. Need to be re-programed they said.
Problem got worse within a month, headlights continue to flicker and go on/off with interior lights. This is most likely to happen when you accelerate in speed. Took it back for service and showed the service manager this happening by riding on the road with the internal lights on. You could see them flicker and go out then back on.
Now, there is a smell of something burning. They replaced the generator stating it was smoking when running and re-programed the control module. Came to pick the Jeep up and problem was still happening. Never left the service lot. Jeep was at service for 10 days. They replaced control module and did some updates. Manager from service called and said your Jeep is done, there is still a slight flickering in the lights but we (service dept.) got it to at least not turn off so it is commercially acceptable……..What does that mean.
Jeep is back in the show for same problem as of Sept 17, 2014…. I contacted an attorney and now filing a lemon law complaint.
