After driving vehicle for first week of purchase, while cleaning vehicle I noticed an incredible amount of grease on the inside of the front rims. Looked under the vehicle the right drivers boot was split and the clamp was hanging around the axle. When I returned vehicle to dealer they looked at it and said it was safe to drive until they ordered the replacement parts which was on backorder. It has been two weeks since then and still no parts have come in. I am concerned about driving the vehicle because the grease is all over the disc brake pads and could cause and accident due to brake failure from the grease.

Two days after purchasing my brand new Jeep, I noticed a grease all over the inside of the front passenger side wheel. The other three wheels were normal. Upon closer inspection, I could see that the cv boot had come apart and grease was leaking out of it and onto the wheel, axle, shocks and every other component surrounding the leak. I am specifically concerned that the grease could get on the brake discs, causing for difficulty stopping the vehicle. I took it to the nearest dealer where it was confirmed that the part was defective and I would need a new axle. The part unfortunately is backordered with no estimation as to when it will be available because this problem is a common one and there are new Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge durango owners all over the country who need this very same part for the same issue. There are likely thousands of people driving these vehicles with no idea that their front axles are malfunctioning and it is only a matter of time before it causes an accident that could leave someone seriously injured.

On 03/04/2014, the vehicle, a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee was observed to have extensive rust on the brake rotor hubs. The rust is deteriorating the paint exposing the metal hub to severe corrosion. This may over time minimize the safety of the braking system. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who sent photos to Chrysler digital imaging. Chrysler denied the claim under warranty stating that the corrosion is considered normal wear. The vehicle had only 6200 miles at the time of the incident.

January 13, 2013 Chrysler group llc. Customer center P.O. Box 21-8004 auburn hills, mi 48321 re: Case# [xxx] to whom it may concern; below, you will find a brief synopsis of my previous and current issues with my new 2014 grand Jeep Cherokee; upon immediately receiving my 2014 Jeep Cherokee, I noticed that my vehicle did not drive smoothly and I had to push hard on the accelerator pedal because my rpms and mph dropped very fast and I was in traffic. After my Cherokee loss power and I began to drift, and after coming to a complete stop, I started my SUV up again and I had no instrument panel. Everything was black. The performance of the vehicle deteriorated to a point where a problem was evident. Frequently, not all the time, the vehicle was very sluggish to accelerate and occasionally not responding to the gas pedal, for approximately five-ten seconds as the RPM's went down. It felt as the though, I was forcing the gas by pressing on the accelerator pedal hard. It appear that the gas was blocked from flowing because I had to press very hard to get some gas to my SUV or the vehicle was stuck in a low gear and not up-shifting. My SUV only have 893 miles on it. I called the dealer sport durst and they informed me to call Chrysler to report the issue. They were very rude especially [xxx] the general manager. Under the North Carolina law, I am requesting a knew 2014 Jeep Cherokee with the same options and or refund of my downpayment. I just would like to add that the dealership that I purchased my vehicle from are very rude and unprofessional towards their black customers and I will never purchase another vehicle nor will I ever have my vehicle serviced by that dealership. I look forward to working with you to resolve this issue asap! cc: Nc attorney general Consumer Affairs office information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I have not been able to resolve a safety recall on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I made an appointment a week in advance for a 2-hour repair (as stated in the NHTSA notice) and, since the vehicle was in the dealer, to check on another issue I noticed on the abnormal behavior of the air suspension. However, 5 days later I am still without my means of transportation. Amazingly, I have been calling since last Saturday and have not been able to talk to the service manager or my service tech. The tech specialist do not replay to my messages.the only person that discusses the status of my vehicle is the service department receptionist, which today stated that the vehicle is still under "evaluation". I have since requested the receptionist to only Focus the repair on the safety recall. I have repeated several times to just handle the safety recall. However, my vehicle has not been repaired. I don't believe it was NHTSA's intention to be without my means of transportation for a week. The safety recall notice talks about hours and maybe a little more, but 5 days is totally different story. I would appreciate any help or guidance you can provide to get my car back. I am even willing to just coordinate with another dealer to get the recall work performed at another time. I can't be without my vehicle anymore. I talk to Chrysler and they stated that the only one that can help me is the dealer, but they are not responsive. Please help. The driver pulled the automobile into a driveway on a downhill slope. The driver shut the vehicle off using the push button start/stop. The driver returned to the vehicle 10 minutes later, with a passenger in the front seat. The driver started the vehicle (foot on brake as required) using push button start/stop. The driver engaged the transmission into reverse using the shifting lever (with foot still on brake as is required by the brake transmission shift interlock (BTSI) system). When engaged in reverse, the engine revved to a high level, and the car traveled in reverse up the hill (driveway), through the street, and into a ditch. Side and front airbags deployed. Driver believes they never took foot off the brake, and the braking was not sufficient to overcome torque of the engine/transmission. Vehicle damage includes air bag deployment, cabin roof liner detachment, three bent wheels, minor damage to muffler, minor body damage. Dealer checked electronics/instrument recordings and noted nothing unusual appearing, and had no knowledge of similar problems.

I have been having multiple problems with the brakes in my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee purchased brand new in May. It has a total of 1,000 miles on it, but the problems started with only 10miles. The instrument cluster immediately lights up like a christmas tree and then the check engine light remains on. The rearview mirrors move into downward facing positions while in park and while driving. This alone is a major safety hazard. The ABS brakes intermittently work and finally failed. The ABS module failed. The backup camera works intermittently and the backup warning system also is intermittently working. My car has been at the dealership every month since I have purchased it and it has currently been there for the last 2 weeks awaiting an ABS repair.

The vehicle has been giving me trouble with lots of necessities like air conditioning shutting off and fronts light turn off on their own. On Friday, September 6th 2013, I was driving to the dealership to get things fixed but while I was on my way there driving, the steering wheel just locked and the vehicle wont respond and it was running, it switched to neutro then park on its own and steering wheel locked and brakes are heavy! miraculously and thanks god, I was not injured and the vehicle not damaged! I was in big shock and stress! I have never experienced something like that, it nearly could have been killed me or hit something or somebody or causing damage! I went to the dealership and spoke to one of the service center manager and explained what happened, they tested the vehicle and it the manager told me, this vehicle has lots of issues need to be fixed! I told them, this vehicle nearly got me killed or injured or some damage could have been happened! they gave me a cheap rental car and refer me to talk directly to the company produced the vehicle! I called on Friday and they gave me a case number and told me your case will be assigned to a manager whom will contact you! I have trying since then to get a hold of anybody to help! but seems nobody seems to be taking this seriously! and I would just wonder, what if you are in the vehicle with kids or somebody of your family members or friends! would you guys take it seriously if something bad could have been happened to me or others!" I am really scared to drive this vehicle ! its a very serious matter, I just think about it and say: What if something bad happen to me or a damage has been done to others!" I am very stressed and depressed about it, and most importantly scared to drive this vehicle or trusting that car dealership! I can't drive this vehicle after this experience and I need help!

Similar to NHTSA ids#: 10533622 and 10533524. Occurrence: 5 times to date frequency: Randomly speed: Less than or equal to 50 mph each time adaptive cruise control: Always off, never on vehicle mileage: ~ 3,200 the car randomly applies the brakes even though there are no objects in the road (front, rear or sides) and no pending accident. Out of the five times, two of those times so hard that the anti-lock brakes activated. This is very dangerous and can cause an accident. To date no accidents, because no cars have been around when this happens. I have a family and am afraid to continue to drive or let them drive this vehicle. It has been to the dealer once for this issue and will now go in a second time because the issue was not resolved. The ntsb should really look into this issue with Chrysler and either issue a recall or at a minimum issue a tsb.

Upon starting my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland, all of the warning lights came on and remained on. This included, but was not limited to: Airbags, electronic stability control, ABS brake system, check engine light, and others. The messages in the dashboard information screen indicated various failures and the need to service immediately. The rear backup camera also became non functioning. After shutting down the vehicle, waiting several minutes and then restarting, the problems continued. Out of safety concerns, I called the nearest Jeep dealer and was advised they "had never heard of this" and if I wanted service that I would have to leave the vehicle there since they do not make appointments. The lights went out upon restarting again, however I am very tentative about driving it, as I do not know if these important safety systems and/or warnings have failed. This is potentially extremely dangerous and totally inexcusable in a $47,000 vehicle which is less than 6 months old. The navigation system and radio have not worked properly since I purchased the Jeep. Upon calling Jeep, and providing my VIN #, I was advised that it needed a "radio enhancement". looking online, there are many complaints of this electrical safety issue, and yet two local dealers have never heard of it ? there also doesn't appear to be any apparent "fix" at this time. Hopefully the NHTSA can look into this potentially dangerous problem.

The better business bureau has pointed me to you all as you can see in the response below: This message is in regard to your complaint submitted on 6/17/2013 6:08:54 pm against Chrysler group, llc. Your complaint was assigned id [xxx]. "although you have not expressed satisfaction in the resolution of your complaint, based on the information provided by both you and the business, the BBB has determined that we have no documented basis to require further action or response from the business. Therefore, the BBB will close this complaint and not pursue it further. For next steps, please contact the NHTSA at www.NHTSA.gov for more information." To sum up the issue, I have the autobraking functionality turned off and the vehicle will sporadically brake on its own when approaching another car/object as part of the anti-collision warning system. Chrysler give the option of turning the braking off or on, and I have it set to "off" but there is no solution as they cannot now duplicate the problem (it's sporadic). I used to be able to replicate the problem with other technology errors I was receiving and they fixed the issue initially, but it's now sporadic.
